I'll be a lot more optimistic if we don't play Grandad again, he made Madine look like Drogba.

Shut up you clown, do you expect us to play like Barca? We are in a relation scrap and results matter.

I'll be honest- I was at the game and think that we fully deserved to lose. The fact was that that they (Sunderland) were incredibly wasteful in front of goal and Alnwick played a blinder. They out fought ,out passed and out muscled us (yet again) and if they had had a half decent striker they would have won. As others on here have said, despite winning, we were genuinely 'shite'.
We might stay up but unless some sort of miracle happens over the summer ,come this time next year we'll be in the same mess that we are now.

But there are 103 pages of comments on line from their fans- that's impressive. Most are critical and quite funny.
We are not playing with any authority whatsoever and yet somehow we've clawed our way to the top of the shitpile for the moment. TBH as this season is about survival I don't give a monkey's about anything but the result. Unfortunately the manner of our victory doesn't inspire me with confidence about where the next points are going to come from, but for now let's enjoy it. At least until the weekend.

Not sure i quite agree rammy, yes they had plenty of the ball but they didn't create that much in my opinion. Our problem as always is our 2nd half retreat and inviting teams on.rammywhite wrote:I'll be honest- I was at the game and think that we fully deserved to lose. We defended well but we were too deep and better teams would have punished us but i didn't think we deserved to lose.

We are shite - but as long as there are three other teams even worse than us (and there are) we will be ok for this season - and we will deal with next season when we get to it.
Chins up lads we won!

Then don't go to the games then if it is making you angry and unhappy.
You won't go to the cinema if there were no films on you wanted to see, or go to the nearest chippy if it tasted crap so why do you go and suffer (and paying good money) for something you clearly are not liking or enjoying?
Football is in the entertainment business - if you are not being entertained then why go - until something changes and you are entertained again?

Because it's in my DNA to go, and in the hope that for whatever reason Parkinson sends them out to destroy the opposition, yet constantly come away pissed off even after a win, last night Sunderland were worse than shite, yet the weak minded fucker had them sitting deep for over an hour, let's just hope relegation isn't settled on goal difference eh.Sluffy wrote:MartinBWFC wrote:Try going to games dogbreath, then come back to me.Boggersbelief wrote:MartinBWFC wrote:That was utter gash, again we score and that goon has them sitting behind the ball for 60 minutes, we had them under the cosh until we scored, ok it's a win but fuck me he bores the shit out of me, just hope he gets fucked off season end.

It's in my DNA too but I wasn't a slave to it.
Even as a youngster I'd skip the odd match here and there if I wasn't enjoying going or didn't fancy the game (like at the end of seasons before the playoffs were introduced - and there was nothing to play for).
You clearly don't rate Parkinson or how he sets his teams up - so why bother keep torturing yourself (and spending a fortune) until something changes?

I think most of us would - but clearly not Martin.
That's why I've asked why he's paying good money from his own pocket to be unhappy?

Being unhappy is part of being a Bolton fan isn't it? Certainly in the last few years anyway

Being miserable and grumpy yes - but unhappy?
Some of my best times following the whites over the years have been when we were dire. The laughs me and my mates had whilst watching how bad we were made it a pleasure being there. The team entertained us but not in the way they intended to be doing!
Ok we wanted to win and for us to be successful but we were what we were at the time and we all made the most of it.
I simply can't see the point for anyone to pay to be unhappy all the time for though?
What's the point in that?

It must be hell being a Man City supporter.
At the end of the day,you support your local club, come what may.
We can't all be winners, but we've had some great times along the way. It's what keeps us going back for more.
By the way Sluffy,do you get frustrated about not getting to games,or is it a less important part of your life than it used to be.

Yes I still miss going to the games even now.
I used to go when I was a kid with all my mates and continued doing so until I left Bolton to better myself jobwise. Even then I used to drive to most games and see my mates for home games and just go by myself mainly to our away games as I was London based.
As the years went by many of my old mates stopped going and with commitments like wife and family I had less opportunity to get to games.
I still went though until I got into my late fifties until it got to a point that the travel and lack of companionship - you don't want to stand with the young Wanderers away supporters anymore as most are in their thirties or younger - as you no longer relate to them anymore other than share the same team to support - and it was getting more difficult to get tickets at away grounds as I wasn't one of their supporters.
It was also getting a bit dodgy for me to also find safe places to leave the car at away games - just traveling on my own, not meeting up with anyone else - and catching the underground and walking to the London grounds on my own weren't the safest of things I could have done either. Even buying something to eat near the ground was somewhat risky because even after years away from home I still had a broad northern accent still - and proud of it.
I guess I compensated somewhat for finally dropping off attending games by making myself useful on forums and ending up setting up Nuts with great people (who to this very day I've never met) like Natasha (and a third who prefers to stay in the background) and latterly BTID and Karly.
I guess I simply just became unhappy going to and from the games at the age I had become (I started to become feeling threatened - maybe unnecessarily so - but it only takes one nut job...!)
Anyway I'm even older now and consigned to my armchair. I guess I carried the torch for getting on for a thousand games over the decades and now its up to others to carry that on.
I've still got the passion though and even at my age and the responsible jobs I've had, a win still makes me smile and a loss means I won't watch or read about the games for a day or so.
However even after saying all that, BWFC has been my enjoyment but never my religion - I've always known that at the end of the day we were only ever watching a game,
