Adam Le Fondre is hoping to build on his promising form at a crucial stage of the campaign as Wanderers look to extend the gap between themselves and the Sky Bet Championship bottom three.
Having established himself as the Whites' first-choice striker in recent weeks, the 31-year-old has hit a sweet patch in front of goal with two goals from his last three outings, including the winner in Bolton's last outing against Aston Villa.
Hoping for more of the same against Leeds United following the March international break, the forward has vowed to score the goals that secure the Trotters' place in the second tier next season between now and the end of the season.
“When I play consistently, I get in a good run and score goals,” Le Fondre told bwfc.co.uk. “I’m very confident about my own ability and I think that’s showing now.
“I think I’ve proven in my career, when I get a run of games I score goals. I want to continue that and get a consistent run in the team.
“Maybe I can be the player to help keep the team up. I’ve scored goals all my life. I love scoring any goal, even if it’s past my little girl at home.
“It’s much better when your goals are for points. Throughout my career I’ve scored a lot of crucial goals."
Le Fondre continued: “I’d like to think I’m getting better each week. It’s down to me to keep improving but I like to think I’ll justify that if I keep playing."
The 31-year-old has praised his teammates for their work ethic and togetherness ahead of the final stages of the season.
“It’s the team – right from Ben Alnwick all the way through to the back four, the two central midfielders and the wingers digging in and making blocks at vital times. We’ve got a good group here.
“It’s nice to have had a rest from the hurly-burly of the Championship and re-charge our batteries for the last eight games of the season.
“Now we're ready to go again at Leeds. We still have a job to do, let’s go for it!”
