Deal - Dead; Team - Dead and Buried; Take the ten-point deduction asap.

It's 12 points obs, and won't matter how many points, we may just have played our last league game.observer wrote:Deal - Dead; Team - Dead and Buried; Take the ten-point deduction asap.

I think we are relegated now, but that's probably not the worst thing that can happen to us.
I can only hope that Anderson f***s off, we are bought be a decent owner and it happens before we incur any more fines or penalties so that we at least have a chance of rebuilding next year.
As for today, the team looked lost and demoralised and I can't imagine many of them will be around next year but we'll see.

Incredibly naive if you actually think that.

Report: Wigan Athletic 5-2 Bolton Wanderers
Bolton Wanderers suffered a derby day defeat at the hands of neighbours Wigan Atheltic at the DW Stadium.
Joe Garner gave Wigan an early lead after three minutes, but Wanderers held firm and finished the first half stronger.
However, the hosts found themselves three goals up early in the second half and Wanderers never recovered from that despite goals from O’Neil and Ameobi.
Team News
Phil Parkinson made three changes from Tuesday’s defeat to Sheffield Wednesday at the University of Bolton Stadium with Andrew Taylor, Clayton Donaldson and Will Buckley coming in for Pawel Olkowski, Sammy Ameobi and Craig Noone. Taylor wore the captain’s armband as he faced his former club at the DW Stadium.
First Half
The hosts earned an early free kick just outside the box on the right hand side after Jason Lowe committed a foul which earned him a yellow card with three minutes barely on the clock.
From Reece James’s set-piece Joe Garner emphatically headed the ball past Matthews to put Latics one-up.
Lowe was forced off the field with a leg injury shortly afterwards with Olkowski replacing him.
Wanderers responded by earning three corners in relative quick succession but on each occasion the Wigan defence dealt with them.
Action in both boxes was few and far between inside the opening half hour.
Hobbs was in the right place to clear for a corner as Garner was waiting at the far post to convert a low right sided cross off Massey.
Matthews made a fine save to thwart former Wanderers’ loanee Robinson who cut on from the left before shooting with his right foot. The Wanderers ‘keeper was at full stretch to turn the ball away for a corner.
Joe Williams’ well struck volley earned a corner after the ball broke to him when the Latics’ defence attempted to clear O’Neil’s free-kick.
Wanderers were edging their way back into this contest and were started to gather a bit of momentum as they ploughed forward.
Another O’Neil free-kick was whipped in which Walton had to punch clear and Wanderers were looking stronger as the half went towards time added on.
Second Half
Parkinson made his second change of the afternoon during the break with Ameobi replacing Donaldson.
Wigan doubled their advantage after 51 minutes through Massey whose shot sneaked in off the inside edge of the post.
It was a rather unfortunate manner for Wanderers to concede especially after their strong finish to the first half.
Wigan’s third came shortly afterwards through Nick Powell who squared into an empty net after Garner stole in behind Matthews to dispossess him as he was attempting to kick the ball up field.
Magennis summed up Wanderers’ luck when his 20 yard free-kick skied over Walton’s cross bar.
Wanderers pulled a goal back on the hour mark through O’Neil whose firmly driven effort from just outside the edge of the box took a deflection to beat Walton.
Matthews made a smart block to keep out Jacobs after he was put rhough by Powell, but the midfielder wasn’t to be denied and moments later restored Wigan’s the three-goal advantage with a powerful drive into the back of the net.
Connolly was unlucky to not get his name on the scoresheet when Ameobi’s flick presented him with a shot which Walton somehow saved with his feet.
Ameobi pulled another goal back to round off some smart play from Wanderers with ten minutes of the game left.
But substitute Leon Clarke ensured the three-goal advantage remained moments later when he nodded in at the far post to seal victory for the hosts.
Full Time
Bolton Wanderers: Matthews, Taylor, Lowe (Olkowski , Beevers, Donaldson (Ameobi HT), Buckley (Noone 82), Hobbs, Connolly, O’Neil, J Williams, Magennis.
Subs From: B. Williams, Wilson, Wheater, Connell

It's almost the perfect storm, an owner/chairman who could not give a fuck about the club and who's only interest seems to be how he can line his own pockets, a fucking totally inept manager who plays mind numbingly dull anti-football, and a group of scrape the barrel signings with the exception of a couple, and I don't want to speak ill of the dead but Gartside started this ball rolling with his piss poor decision making after BSA left, I still live in hope that someone will come in and turn thing around !!!!

This result and the collapsed deal are two events about as surprising as one another. I.e, not very.
Even without the horrendous situation off the pitch, it's not a shock result, when you look at the overall quality in the squad. Personally I wonder if some of these players are even top half League One quality.

Well that finishes one of the worst weeks in the clubs history, never felt this low/worried about our club, usually it's just about relegation and football, but this is different position we find our selves in.
The truth is on the field we are a woefully bad football team. And unless we get sorted off the field then this will not change, So not much point talking about who played well, or if we need a new manager, the clocks ticking and either we take a hit (admin) and start from behind the 8 ball with a new owner or BWFC as we know it may no longer exist. (Liquidated) So i'm off for a beer or two before going to bed to weep.

KEN gets too much stick for the state of the club imo. We were in a grave situation in the months leading up to him taking charge, as you said, GARTSIDE and ED have a lot to answer for, sadly they’re no longer with us, I don’t want to speak I’ll of the dead either but those two have run the club into the ground, not Anderson

Does anyone know what’s happened to Josh Vela?

His head is elsewhere, apparently all but signed a contract with Leeds
I’m more concerned about Oztumer, crying shame that he’s frozen out, hope he stays next season as he will dominate league one

Agreed on Oztumer, showed a lot of promise early season but hasn’t been used in the right way. Clearly not a Parky player, but a talent we’ve wasted at a time when quality is rock bottom in the squad.

The grave situation we were in when Anderson arrived is the same grave situation we are in now i.e. facing potential liquidation.Boggersbelief wrote:bryan458 wrote:It's almost the perfect storm, an owner/chairman who could not give a fuck about the club and who's only interest seems to be how he can line his own pockets, a fucking totally inept manager who plays mind numbingly dull anti-football, and a group of scrape the barrel signings with the exception of a couple, and I don't want to speak ill of the dead but Gartside started this ball rolling with his piss poor decision making after BSA left, I still live in hope that someone will come in and turn thing around !!!!

Except it's not.
When Anderson arrived the club had a positive balance sheet of over £40 million pounds.
Now, thanks to 3 years of mismanagement it's apparently worth f** all with debts left right and centre, decent players and prospects sold and assets pawned.
Explain to me how that isn't Anderson's fault?
And say what you like about ED but the numbers don't lie and he left the club with £40 million of value - value that Anderson has since frittered away with breathtaking incompetence. Unless he is a Bolton hater who intentionally set out to destroy us. You decide.

The best thing he did was get six million quid or so for Madine and of course, that was the worst thing he did for the club.wanderlust wrote:The grave situation we were in when Anderson arrived is the same grave situation we are in now i.e. facing potential liquidation.Boggersbelief wrote:bryan458 wrote:It's almost the perfect storm, an owner/chairman who could not give a fuck about the club and who's only interest seems to be how he can line his own pockets, a fucking totally inept manager who plays mind numbingly dull anti-football, and a group of scrape the barrel signings with the exception of a couple, and I don't want to speak ill of the dead but Gartside started this ball rolling with his piss poor decision making after BSA left, I still live in hope that someone will come in and turn thing around !!!!
