Wigan 1-1 Bolton

I reckon we are more or less dead cert to lose this. 
If we do, we can kiss the play offs goodbye.

If we won however... Well. Things could get very interesting.

Most of the team have their flip flops on already so this season will end with a whimper and not a bang.

Wigan have two games in hand over Rotherham and given their form are favourites to go up as champions.
When they thrashed us back in October, we were a very different team than we are now and James McClean ripped Harry Brockbank a new one down the wing whilst Liam Gordon didn't do much better against Lang on the other side. They bullied us in the middle a bit with MJ struggling manfully not to get overrun until George came on to shore things up at the expense of Josh Sheehan.
TBH if we still had Fossey available I'd fancy our chances to push their wide men back in this one but we'll see how it goes.
Should be a much more even game this time and will probably come down to fine margins. We definitely need a solid start and ideally the first goal.
And Evatt's selection will be crucial - we'll need a lot more steel and this game could be made for Dempsey alongside MJ (at the expense of Comley?) at least to begin with in the middle.

I think you mean Morley and not Comley Lusty but i would play all 3 so we are more secure in midfield. Dapo can always come on later in the game if needed. Still can't see us beating the pie eating twats though.

I certainly think it'll be closer than it was in October.

This is make or break for me.

I have a ticket for the game in the home end with some Wigan friends. If we put in another derby day shocker that will be the end of me watching Wanderers. The 4-0 thrashing at home was as embarrassing as it gets, although I fear Saturday could be worse. I have no faith in any Evans team having the heart to compete in a proper local derby.

Sadly I'll settle for a narrow defeat as long as we get stuck in, have a brawl with real fisticuffs, and have at least 2 sent off. Like it used to be under Rioch and sometimes Allardyce.

Unfortunately we didn't sign that Karl Henry type midfielder so I can't see who is going to lead the charge.

3-0 to the home side, 1-1 if Karl Henry plays.

I agree. Fossey is the one we will miss. Without him our chances of points from this drop steeply.

I'll be optimistic though if we pick the right team. Although, anyone care to suggest what our strongest side is?

Don’t think it matters what side we put out Biggie, Wigan are just better than us full stop and I can’t see any way our defence will stand up to them. I’m afraid for all our lovely football, we’re just a soft touch and I have to agree with Nat that the team lacks the heart for a fight. I’m hoping that Evatt will address that in the summer and we bring some physicality into the team. It goes without saying that I’d love us to beat the pie eating gits and get some of our own back by either helping take the title off them or better still a top two finish for them but realistically I can’t see it happening. Sadly I have to go for another pasting so it’s 3-0 to Wiggin I’m afraid.

That's me! Missed loads of games this season. mostly the midweek games although i do pay extra to watch them on ifollow.

Poor first half and getting bullied all over the park. Wigan winning every 50-50 and our lads look so surprised when they get the ball their passing has gone to pot so we're not creating anything. Only going one way this game unless there's a massive improvement from our lads.
