If that's true about the indemnity, then he's essentially blackmailing the buyers, if this goes tits up, and deeper investigations are undertaken he'll be properly fucked as he will have nobody to fall back on, hope Raymond the bastard is waiting for him on D wing.

So lately we have gone from deal done just missing a signature to no deal to deal done again just missing a signature to no deal....and now .....close to a deal again.
I presume we now have to wait 13 days and close to midnight on the 14th day for the next step.......which will be looking for that guy in Benidorm who has to sign the contract.

Check your sources because they are utterly wrong, you can't be indemnified from a crime.
He's seeking 'civil' indemnity which relate to contract agreements in regards to a bridging loan between him Eddie Davies and him (and almost certainly his wife) personally secured on their personal wealth.
Legality.

What is ‘civil’ indemnity?

Yes, how can he be protected against a personal loss on a loan he needs to pay?T.R.O.Y wrote:Sluffy wrote:T.R.O.Y wrote:Don’t know if already mentioned but Anderson is reportedly holding out for a legal indemnity for his time as owner. Curious to hear the difference between a civil indemnity and an indemnity. Not a term I’ve heard before.

Meanwhile sale complete, thank fuck.
Statement On Behalf Of David Rubin & Partners, Administrators For Bolton Wanderers
We are pleased to announce the sale of Bolton Wanderers to Football Ventures (Whites) Limited has been completed.
Joint Administrator, Paul Appleton, said: "This has been one of the most complicated administrations I've been involved with but I'm delighted to say we have finally reached a satisfactory conclusion with the sale to Football Ventures.
"At times, some of the hurdles appeared insurmountable and the frustration felt has been immense, not least by the supporters who have had to endure too many weeks of uncertainty.
"I would like to pay particular tribute to the Eddie Davies Trust and their legal team who, throughout this whole process, have been willing to do everything in their power to ensure Eddie's incredible legacy was maintained and not sullied.
"Even at the 11th hour when other parties were content to renege on their agreements, the Trust realised the very existence of Bolton Wanderers was at stake and were willing to find a compromise to save the club. It is a testament to their unflinching determination to do what was best for Bolton that we are able to complete the deal today.
"The Trust were forced to constantly compromise their position in the face of circumstances and demands which were wholly unreasonable. This says much about their determination not to allow Eddie's beloved Bolton Wanderers to suffer any longer at the hands of Ken Anderson.
"Sadly, Mr Anderson has used his position as a secured creditor to hamper and frustrate any deal that did not benefit him or suit his purposes. Thankfully, with the assistance of the Trust and others, we were able to overcome this obstacle.
"I would especially like to thank both my team and my lawyers who worked around the clock to find solutions to problems which certainly threatened to derail the whole process.
"I have every sympathy for the staff, players and fans who have been forced to stand by while their club was taken to the brink. I am delighted their loyalty, dedication and patience have finally been rewarded.
"Of course, there will be difficult times ahead while the club gets back on its feet but there are too many people with Bolton close to their hearts for it not to be successful once more.
"The EFL and PFA have both played a major part in the club's survival. They have understood the complexities of the process and have stood strong in the fight to save Bolton, helping to drive this deal over the line.
"Now there can be a fresh start with owners who, I believe, will run the club for the good of the supporters and the community as a whole.
"For everything the fans have had to endure, they deserve nothing less."

What is ‘civil’ indemnity?
Civil relates to an individual
Indemnity relates to protection
Common sense alone should tell folks that a contract between two entities can't give you protection against the law if you've committed a crime.

I have no idea why you’re talking about the law yet again. Hopefully I don’t get banned for pointing that out this time.
Let’s just enjoy the fact we’ve survived this mess, Anderson’s gone and we can move on.

I’ve just sunk down into my chair and feel light as a feather.
Brilliant news. On to gillingham.
However, I’m still pissed off and sad for Bury fans and hope they can somehow crawl back up so we meet again.

Fantastic! We survived despite the prick Ken Anderson putting his own greed before the club which means so much to so many. We have rid of him at last. So happy, now let’s carry on backing the team, times will be hard but will hopefully get back to the great club we are.

That's been one of your big problems, people need to understand the legal position on everything as that determines what happens and can't happen.
It's the law that is the key to all of this not the morality of what people do and have done.
(Fwiw you posted about LEGAL indemnity - obviously the law relates to this - does that give you a clue as to why I mention the law again???)
As you say though best we move on.

TFFT! Now we can all relax a bit. Not to be too vengeful but I do hope that anyone having business dealings with Anderson in the future will know of his underhand dealings with us. Hopefully he will be looked at by other agencies who will act if criminality has ensued.
