Transfer rumours !

I have to say that the potential signings revealed so far don’t fill me with confidence at all. When you consider who came in last January, this years lot seem inferior and we’re even considering spending money on them. Are we seriously looking to get promoted, or just buy players we might sell on in future, because the two aren’t the same. Let’s buy some experience to get us up and then do the buy and sell bit when we’re back in the Championship. The quite kids never win anything isn’t always true but you do need a level of experience.

Morley is tidy enough but nowt spectacular - a typical "one for the future"?



The other young lad we've been linked with - Anthony Hartigan - is a similar player.
Watched him today as Wimbledon got dumped out of the FA Cup by BWFC - not us, National League Boreham Wood - and Hartigan, along with the rest of the Wimbledon team was poor.

As a side note, infant terrible and general dickhead Nile Ranger was on the BWFC bench, but didn't get on the pitch.

Remember last summer we were linked with Boreham Wood striker Kibongo Tshimanga? He now plays for Chesterfield and this season has scored 18 goals in 18 games - but didn't get on the scoresheet today as they were battered 5 - 1 by Chelsea.

Sadlier used to be a a really good goalscoring midfielder - not sure what happened to him when he moved to Rotherham - injury perhaps? Whatever, he certainly has the skills and an eye for goal - just needs to find his mojo.

Dean Campbell on loan from Aberdeen? Again, good young player but I'm not sure he'd merit a start. We seem to be linked with a lot of youngsters so maybe it's a long term plan but a loan is a loan and he'd want game time now.

Thought it was Morley from Wigan we were awaiting confirmation on Lusty? Haven’t heard anything recently on Sadlier but you never know, it might be 2 of the 3 Evatt has claimed he’s after? Question is, if Sadlier does sign where does he play, he’s more a winger than striker or midfielder and we’re already pretty well off on those?

It's Morley from Rochdale - done deal according to some reports including Iles. I like this though...

Ha ha, brilliant that Lusty. So much for keepers going up to save games but was it intentional or just a lucky clearance?

That's the thing about Sadlier - midfielder but scores a few goals - or did til he went to Rotherham. Perhaps that's to do with how they use him but he certainly knows where the goal is (see about 10 posts ago)
Unlike Morley who is a promising young player who can pass and tackle but doesn't chip in with goals himself.

I'm hoping Biggie is right for once and we get Sadlier too

Man City goalkeeper James Trafford closing in on Bolton Wanderers loan transfer

Bolton Wanderers are set to sign Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford on loan.

Manchester City goalkeeper James Trafford is closing in on a move to Bolton Wanderers on loan for the remainder of the season.

The 19-year-old is highly-rated at City, playing a big role in the Under-23s' Premier League 2 triumph last season and spending a lot of time around the senior team having been named on the bench on six occasions without making his debut.

Trafford has spent the first half of the current campaign at another League One club in Accrington Stanley but, despite starting the season as the No.1, has struggled for minutes after being ousted by Toby Savin.

He conceded 26 goals in his 11 appearances, with only two clean-sheets to his name, and hasn't played for Stanley since a 4-0 defeat to Burton Albion on November 23.

In a bid to increase his minutes in the second half of the season, Trafford's loan spell at Accrington has been cut short and he will instead join 16th placed Bolton.

We tried this with Crellin and it didn't work, we need an experienced keeper to come in and give Dixon some real competition and hopefully replace him.

Even I don't believe Evans would sign a 19 year old keeper with limited experience to play in our relegation battle run in.

It does seem ludicrous.
