I would like it to be renamed 'Welsh Lives Matter'. Our coal and water resources were taken, and more importantly, people have rustled our better looking sheep, bastards.

But according to Tony Livesey, in the current world black lives don't matter as much as white lives so saying "black lives matter" isn't saying white lives don't matter - it's saying black lives matter as much as white lives. Which is fair enough isn't it?Boggersbelief wrote:All lives matter. Please re title this thread as it offends me

Hmmm, looks as though things are getting messy!
Just the headlines of what seems to have been happening in the last few days -
Viewers urge other football pundits to ditch their Black Lives Matter badges after Patrice Evra and Jamie Redknapp refused to wear one on Sky Sports and Matt Le Tissier hit out at the group's beliefs on defunding police and anti-capitalism
Sky Sports pundits opted not to wear their Black Lives Matter badges on air
It comes after the UK arm of organisation was criticised for political activism
Fans were quick to point out players and broadcasters should have researched
Premier League players are also beginning to distance themselves from BLM UK
Over the last few days, the official BLM UK Twitter account has caused controversy by calling for the overthrow of capitalism, reductions in police funding and an end to free trade with Israel.
...former Wolves midfielder Karl Henry had also slammed the organisation on Twitter.
Black Lives Matter want to bring to an end racial injustice and police brutality, but in recent weeks have called for a cut in money to law enforcement to create a 'people's budget'.
The UK arm of the group has said it wants to defund the police completely and abolish capitalism and has pledged support for Palestine amid Israel's plans to annex the West Bank.
Black Lives Matter: Group wants to abolish the police, smash capitalism and close all prisons
Black Lives Matter UK is the semi-official British offshoot of its American counterpart and has been the face of the UK's protests over George Floyd's death and racial equailty.
But while hundreds of thousands of people have donated millions to their cause, many will be unaware on many of the group's more extreme aims.
The UK branch, just like the American arm of the movement, has a number of far-Left aims listed on its wesbite.
They include the Marxist 'commitment to dismantle capitalism'.
Elsewhere the group says it wants to use money it has raised to develop and deliver strategies 'for the abolition of the police'.
The official Twitter account of the Black Lives Matter (BLM) UK movement has also been caught up in an antisemitism row.
It tweeted in support of Palestine over plans by Israel to annex its West Bank settlements.
The verified account claimed mainstream British politics were being 'gagged of the right to critique Zionism,' before Tweeting that the movement 'loudly and clearly stands beside our Palestinian comrades' and adding in block capitals 'FREE PALESTINE'.
It sparked anger among the Jewish community, with some describing the idea of politicians being 'gagged' over their criticism of Zionism as being an 'antisemitic trope'.
The Campaign Against Antisemitism (CAA) said: 'BLM should aspire to be a movement against racism that unifies people and achieves lasting change, not a movement that spreads hatred and achieves lasting division.
'You cannot fight prejudice with prejudice.'
The group has been active online since mid-2016.
In December that year it endorsed the complete closure of all Britain's prisons and detention centres, saying they were 'inhumane, overcrowded and unsafe'.
The group has also expressed its opposition on Twitter to government initiatives including reform of the benefits system via the introduction of Universal Credit and the licensing of fracking.
It has attacked everyone from Oxfam ('big charities are nothing more than colonisers for the 21st century') to Sir David Attenborough.
The group accused an episode of his 2018 TV series Dynasties, on chimpanzees, of being racist because the BBC naturalist complained that habitat destruction due to overpopulation was threatening the species with extinction.
'Human activities can obviously compete with wildlife,' the anonymous BLM Tweeter opined. 'But 'too many people' always has a silent 'black'.'

Exclusive: BBC rules that staff should not wear Black Lives Matter badges on air
Number of high-profile organisations are forced to distance themselves from Black Lives Matter as they say organisation has been "hijacked"
The BBC has decided its presenters and guests should not wear Black Lives Matter badges as the campaign was accused of “hijacking” George Floyd’s death for political reasons.
Bosses at the corporation have ruled that “visual symbols of support” for Black Lives Matter should not be worn on screen, senior sources told The Telegraph.

'OWN AGENDAS' Crystal Palace become first Prem club to publicly distance themselves from Black Lives Matter group amid controversy
“We stand proudly alongside members of the BAME community, our players and employees, and behind the ideals and ethos of 'black lives matter'.
“However, we would like to make clear that we do not endorse any pressure group or body that carries the same term in its name, and we strongly believe that organisations should not use this important force for change and positivity to push their own political agendas.
“We want to be part of a world that is fair, inclusive and open to all.
Prem chiefs have agreed they will not ditch the Black Lives Matter badge on club shirts - because it was designed by Troy Deeney and his partner.
All top flight shirts have been adorned with a BLM badge designed by Watford ace Deeney and his partner.
These will be worn for the duration of the resumed season.
That remains the Prem policy with no plans to change the stance despite the growing controversy.
The League still believes it is right to have gestures in support of anti-discrimination measures.
And one of the key reasons is that the badge itself was designed by Deeney and his partner and is NOT a product of the BLM movement.
League chiefs remain adamant that it was specifically designed for Prem players to wear and is a clear symbol of a commitment to fight racism rather than being the logo of a political organisation.

Yet again, what started out as a good and fair campaign, has been hijacked by the idiots who want to go too far, and in doing so are actually pushing people away.
