A picture speaks a thousand words, & these 3 pictures of last night in Liverpool show why the 10.00pm closure of pubs and restaurants is simply making things worse not better. This was repeated right across the UK. pic.twitter.com/IEs7NtzrlY

Mayor of Greater Manchester
There should be an "urgent review" of 10pm closure times for restaurants and pubs, Greater Manchester's mayor says.
Andy Burnham said it meant people were gathering in homes and supermarkets that were "packed out to the rafters" once the bars closed.
Scenes of crowds forming after closing time have been filmed in UK cities including Liverpool and York.

It’s very clear, across the UK, that this ill thought out 10pm curfew, has pushed everyone out of venues with socially distanced measures, into the streets, into off licenses, supermarkets, over crowded public transport and house parties. Every operator predicted this. Shambolic.

People simply don't give a flying fuck do they...
Obviously the governments fault though!
To be serious for a moment, we know people won't follow the rules and we can't/wont enforcement otherwise there would be riots on the streets, so all we can do is to try and control things the best we can.
I can understand the government wanting people to go home before they get their beer googles on and give up any semblance of social distancing but that clearly didn't go to plan - I think most of us could have guessed it wouldn't anyway!
I can understand the government want the pubs and restaurants open and people spending money to keep the economy moving too!
I'm not sure what the answer is short of telling everyone who as major health issues or 70 and over to go into lockdown for however long it takes until they come up with a vaccine or similar for this.
Clearly though they've dug another hole, although a well meaning one, to expect people to go home sensibly after the pubs are shut at ten!
It was never going to happen like that was it!
