Time To Ditch The Wanderers?

Liberal Democrat President Tim Farron has tabled a motion in the House of Commons following BBC Sport's 2012 Price Of Football survey, in it he is encouraging people to ditch supporting League clubs and start following your local non-league team instead.

It's the first time I've read something said by a politician that actually makes sense. Why do we continue to watch the shite on offer at Bolton? Ditto for Burnley fans, Blackburn fans and fans of virtually every other team in the top four divisions. It wouldn't be so bad if you could have a decent afternoon out for £25 or so....but with food, drink and travel you're going to end up paying three or four times that.

And be honest, those of you that witnessed the meteoric rise through the 1990s, don't you crave standing at a game? Well you can still do this at all non-league grounds.

So are you happy to ditch BWFC? IF so, which non league club are you going to follow? I am now a Bamber Bridge supporter.

If I wasn't an arden't supporter of Bolton whether in The Premier League or the Old Division 4, then I would probably have more than a passing interest for Almere FC, or Chorley FC.

Why Chorley?

And why not ditch BWFC for Chorley or Almere? You happily moved away from Bolton, surely you can do the same to the club?

They are my main Dutch team, and only 20 minutes away, by train, from the ground. Lats nights performance over shitty was just amazing!

I do go to Almere games as they are nice and cheap, but most of the Dutch stars, befor emoving elsewhere in Europe, tend to ply their trade in the Eredivisie, and it good it watch them before they get better - such as De Jong last night, he was amazing for Ajax. Plus to be fair it is actually easier to get to Ajax ground than it is to Almere's ground - although I live in Almere (one has to realise the stupid road network they have in the city to fully understand what I mean!).



Yep Ajax won the battle of the RLD. Police had to step in and basically push Ajax fans to either Rembrandtplein or Leidseplein, whilst the police contained city fans around the RLD. Last time I saw there had been 25 arrests!

If its lots of drinking then do not go to EuroBar (Dam Square) as pints cost €10.25, at Teasers they cost €7.50. best places are on NieuweMarket most bars around there are about €5.50, same with Rembrandtplein and Leidseplein. There is bar on the edge of the RLD called Cafe Trinity and pints cost €3.80. Prices gone up recently as VAT went up to 21% at the beginning of October!

Thanks for the advice. I'm an Amsterdam legend though who gets drinks and drugs for free over there. I don't even have to pay to get in the banana bar these days.
