He was a player with a very particular skill set, a break up man.

i thought he was very good in that role actually, he was a pest, a good tackler and a good sitter.

he was never going to be any more than that.

The twitter messages did annoy me at the time because i prefer teams to keep that kind of nonsense behind closed doors. Unprofessional.

I never counted (why should I) but I have no doubt that he played far more backward passes than forward and also more sideways passes than forward.

Am I right in thinking that he was the original 'Bamby on Ice' or was that someone else.

I can't see him ever playing again because if he did he would have to pay back the £4 million insurance that he was allegedly covered for. Anyone remember the case of Gary Bailey the former United keeper who prematurely retired from English football with a bad back? After a substantial insurance payout he returned to South Africa and then started playing again. He was pursued by the insurance company and had to pay back a substantial amount of his lump sum.

I like Fabrice but I can't see him winning the dancing competition. From what I saw of him on the football pitch I would liken his dance moves to that of a disjointed spider.

I dunno...

Im sure he did a steapover once, in.the build up to.his goal against wigan...

Fabrice Muamba believes his cardiac arrest could have been caused after he pushed himself too hard in training ahead of Bolton’s pre-season last year.

Muamba, 24, collapsed on the pitch during Bolton’s FA Cup quarter final against Tottenham at White Hart Lane in March and has since retired from football on medical advice after he recovered at the London Chest Hospital.

Muamba told ITV4’s Fabrice Muamba: Sports Life Stories he felt the intensive training period could have caused the cardiac arrest which left him unconscious for three days and stopped his heart from beating for 78 minutes.

'I pushed myself too far,' Muamba said. 'Last season before the pre-season I went away to America for two weeks just to work, work, work, you know. Just physically to work and get myself in a good condition to come back and play in the Premier League again.

'I was fit but I wanted to be even fitter. I wanted to come back even fitter than the other guys. I was in this complex in New York and you worked everything from running, gym work - everything.

'I think it’s one of the reasons this caused this cardiac arrest - I think I pushed myself very very far to the point where, maybe I went too far with it.'

However, Professor Richard Schilling, a heart rhythm specialist, is not convinced that the two-week intensive fitness training could have been a trigger for Muamba’s cardiac arrest six months later.

Schilling told the programme: 'It was very likely that this cardiac arrest was going to happen at some point. Whether that intensive training period brought that time forward it’s impossible to know for sure but anything is possible.'

Muamba would have been the first player on the team sheet for me every week at that point in the season. He had his weaknesses but at that point he was becoming consistent and was at his best in terms of form at Bolton.

I am not going to have a go at him for taking advantage of the doors that are now opening for him.

A celebrity is someone in the public eye. Someone that the people follow or "care" about. Muamba's collapse and subsequent "death" and resurrection happened in the most spectacular of ways on live tv and caused a lot of people to take a second look at the important things in life. People were interested in his recovery and the media fed that interest. And as a result the public sort of take to the guy and take him into their hearts. He is in transition from footballer to celebrity. Not really his fault.

It's the next logical step in my opinion. A football player is used to being in the public eye and performing. If he can no longer do football it is only natural that he will take on the other things he is offered.

I entirely agree with you.

The publicity of Muambas attack actually significantly increased the amount of check ups people had throughout the country, no doubt catching a few illnesses earlier than they would have otherwise. Any publicity he gets just increases the awareness that it really can happen to anyone, not a bad thing at all in my eyes.

I think half the publicity directed at Muamba has been foisted upon him. He comes across as quite a shy individual. It's other people who seem to be basking in his publicity if you ask me.

So heartmoving this documentary tonight.

Brought all the emotion back when he laid facedown on the pitch during the FA Cup game. I had a tear in my eye again.

Fabrice is so humble and warm.

He knew he wasn't the best footballer in the world, but he worked hard and never gave up on his dreams. He just worked, worked and worked to get better and be the best he could be.

That's the type of player/person we're missing at BWFC at the moment.

I hope we get Fab back at the club in some capacity.

I honestly thought it was longer than a year ago.

I can't imagine what his family went through that night, glad things worked out for the better as it could have been a whole different story if not for the paramedics.

Give over Nat- you know as well as everynoe else does that this is a day to be grateful. The young bloke, his wife and kids are all alive and happy today. We witnessed the incredible skills of cardiac medics and a genuine outpouring of the best of human emotion that he survived.

If he hadn't and we were remembering the first anniversary of his death- would you still be saying- So?
I doubt it- and so? We've got something to celebrate

Celebrate the "incredible skills of cardiac medics" by all means, but let's not pretend Muamba did anything special here. Yet he's the one doing the celebrity tour and pulling in thousands in cash on the back of it.
