When he's not being seen putting every bit of himself in the way of attacks, he's standing still as a mere observer.

The gormlessness in his body language for the first goal yesterday sums him up at his worst.

He really is all or nothing!

Worst CB we've had since Cid, been saying it for years.

Apart from heading the ball into the stands or hoofing it into the upper tier he brings fcuk all to the table.

I'm on record of saying I didn't rate Knight when we bought him from Villa reserves - got a bit of stick from some at the time for saying this too.

If anything he's got even worse imo - since we got him!

We have to hope Ream is good and Coyle gives him a chance. Alternatively when Alonso returns (any idea anyone?) we could play Ricketts and Wheater as CBs. Ricketts did OK last season at CB.

A trial date in Madrid has still not been set for Alonso. The wheels of the Spanish judicial system run awfully slowly. ( His accident was on the 2nd May 2011 )

If Ream impresses in training then why not give him a chance against Wigan ?

I'd like to see Ricketts at CB at some stage as he does get skinned by pacy wingers, but I do like his all round play a lot and he did a great job last time but one thing Knight does have is pace and helluva long legs to get tackles in and much-needed height at corners (both ends). Plus he's not too reckless and doesn't give away stupid free kicks/pens too often.

Ream apparently has pace, but the rest has yet to be seen - some not too favourable reports from the States suggest he has flaws. The main thing is we're not short of CBs from which to find a workable combo.

If we had Alonso we'd have decent pace both sides and I'd be a lot happier as NRC/Muamba in tandem tend to force opposition wide. If only our wingers could tackle back and cover properly we'd then be as tight as a fish's asshole in defence (and that's watertight).

With Mavies in the middle and two hard-working wingers interchanging with the fullbacks we'd be as good as we're going to get.

BWFCinPhila spoke quite highly of Ream saying he had outgrown the MLS. If he can follow in Stu Holden's footsteps then it will be a shrewd signing.
