Has anybody watched it on sky Atlantic? I think it is bloody brilliant, took me a while to get into it, but I can't stop watching it now.

Hell yeah, but you have to watch it from the first season and give it chance.

I stopped watching when they removed Sean Bean's head.

I just can't watch "fantasy" stuff.
"biswich of marta hath cometh sire, he meaneth to taketh off your head!"
"send in the witch of dudladashire to smite doth"

The series is indeed bloody brilliant. I watched Season 1 in just about 24 hours. I finished Season 2 and saw Ep1 of season 3 last night. I can hardly wait to catch up!

Game of Thrones is not like most fantasy stuff. It is far better. It is loosely based on the Wars of the Roses and the conflict between the major houses/families. There is a relatively small amount of magic/fantasy in it.
Worth giving it a chance even if you don't like fantasy stuff, but you will need to start with the first series..

Dragons - three but they are small and don't appear until the last episode of series one.
Shields - yes but you get that in all historical fiction set in certain time periods and they are just ordinary shields not magical ones.
"Speaking dothuth" - absolutely not.

Please do let us know what yu think Hips.
I can't usually watch this sort of crap but if you tell me it's half decent I might give it a whirl.
