Solskjaer? I see where your coming from, but think it's a moot question. Money wouldn't come into it as he was rated the wealthiest coach in England whilst Man U reserve manager. He wasn't interested in us and turned down Villa as he didn't want to move his family from their home in Denmark

I was 2 actually but he still played for the United, I would struggle to accept him as manager.scottjames30 wrote:Yes Ken . yes.kennster wrote:No Scott. No.scottjames30 wrote:If you could turn back time would you do everything in your power to get Ole Gunnar Solskjaer ?

I'm guessing he's worth around 150k , some mug manager would of tried to get us down to 100k , they couldn't of wanted him sold that much, I mean he is our captain , our leader.
Have, the word is have.

Nothing what-so-ever to do with grammar, just a basic understanding of what words mean.
It doesn't get much simpler than that. Init.

I have a long flight, well flights back to Manchester tomorrow, knowing Knight could be dropped would certainly ease that journey. Mark Davies hopefully back sooner than thought.Knight must be banished forever the useless tit.Has DF finally seen what everyone else has known for time.He is shit.Lets see Saturday.

Unfortunately he will start, because he is the best of a bad bunch, that's why we are in the shit we are in, not one quality defender in the whole squad, Baptiste apart, Dougie needs to get in the loan market sharpish, and realise he needs at least 2 quality defenders, then ship out Mills, Wheater, and hopefully Knight.

In the past he has compensated for his costly concentration lapses.
At the minute, he's not contributing anything useful. We might as well give Mills a chance. We've obviously not seen the best of him.

Whoever starts in central defence, apart from Baptiste, as we haven't seen him play there yet. We all know that we'll be a complete and utter shambles at the back once again.
Mills & Knight, Knight & Ream, Ream & Wheater, Wheater & Mills, Knight & Wheater etc we probably couldn't do any worse than playing Lennie Lawrence there.

Given the lack of faith in the CBs, what does development team captain Cian Bolger have to do to be given a chance?Culcheth_White wrote:Whoever starts in central defence, apart from Baptiste, as we haven't seen him play there yet. I can't believe there are 6 people who think Knight will be dropped.

I don't. I think Wheater will be dropped.

I think the idea that development squad players without a single minute of senior action will somehow be starting is a little far fetched.

I have voted No, more out of hope than any other reason. If DF starts with Knight after whats gone on so far this season I think my hopes of DF being a great appointment for us will be dashed!
Why is it that our recent managerial appointments can't see the obvious stuff we can see from the stands?
Megson: Continually playing Elmo and Taylor when both should've been dropped - eventually he did drop them, but for a long time he kept on flogging the same dead horses.
Owen Coyle: Continually playing SKD when it was clear to everyone in the stadium that he was ineffectual and past it!
DF: So far this season continually playing Knight and even making him captain!
So what is it? Does the players performances in training rule the manager's decision for games. Do they not watch a replay of the matches?

Why do managers continually overlook what is plainly obvious to everyone else? Knight has been virtually an ever present under Megson, Coyle & Freedman despite being nothing but a liability. I don't know the exact stats but I'm sure Knight has gifted the opposition a goal in most games this season. Why would any manager continue with a player like that?
Someone hit the nail on the head on another thread, if Freedman drops Knight he's admitting he made a huge mistake installing him as captain - managers don't like to admit they got it wrong, most have major ego problems.

I think that it's a possibility that Prozone or similar will back up the managers on this one and I suspect the reason is that it's pretty obvious when Knight makes a cock-up as he's such a tall gangly chap and he looks like a giraffe on ice when he blunders. Add to that he's often the last defender so it's amplified when he makes a ricket in the same way it is when a goalie makes a mistake. Less obvious are the positional and application mistakes of others and comparatively Knight may in fact be less prone to error than some players who don't seem to be at fault because they are some distance from where they should be.
Just saying that it's a possibility that statistically, Knight may not be the weakest link which is why successive managers have stuck with him - the key word here being "possibility" before you start.
