It's the original Danish/Swedish production. It is much better. Probably worth watching even if you have seen The Tunnel. This week's episode of The Tunnel was particularly annoying - though not quite as implausible as last week's episode (e.g. the journalist's one night stand).Soul Kitchen wrote:Not seen the Bridge, somebody I know said it's similar plot?xmiles wrote:Not as good as The Bridge though. I feel they have lost something by extending it to 10(?) episodes. Nothing wrong with the two leads but the pacing is a bit off.Soul Kitchen wrote:RT

Does anybody remember The Lakes from the late 90s?
John Simm plays a scouser that moves to the Lake District, where three children drown under his watch.
I took it from my dad's collection recently and am absolutely hooked. You see it and wonder why we don't have a massive film making industry over here.

Was sure I saw him in it as a Vicar or a priest. My mind must be going.

You may be thinking of the right drama, as there's a priest that plays a big part in it, just the wrong actor.

I just watched homeland series 1 to 3 from start to finish in 4 days or so...
Season 1 is great. Season 2 is alright. Season 3 not the same standard. Oh well... Still enjoyed it all...

When Biggie say "Season 3 not the same standard" what he means is that it is annoyingly bad. There are sub-plots that go nowhere and the twists are even more unbelievable than in series 2. I loved series 1 but the law of diminishing returns really does apply. Series 3 was so bad I am not going to bother watching the already commissioned series 4, and I sat through every episode of every series of 24.

Prisoners of War is currently filming its 3rd series - I don't think series 2 was ever shown in the UK.
The DVD of the second series is available on Amazon.

Did anyone see the 'Open all hours' comeback episode? What a shocker! It must have seemed a good idea at the time, but it should have been strangled at birth. It was, frankly, embarrassing.

ITV are repeating The Americans from this evening - if you missed it the first time around, make sure you catch the repeats. It is one of the better US drama's and set during the cold war in the US with Soviet spies acting as an all-American family whilst acting as spies and they get a new neighbour who actually works with the FBI - great cat and mouse drama with a fantastic ending to the first season (in about 10 weeks time)
