The Brummie accent just makes that sooooo much better!
It's just odd that her biggest concern is whether or not he's cheating on her.......
Who with.....Helen Keller?

Shit, I've just found another one.
Apparently Britain's full of 'em nowadays, according to Jezza anyway. (Kyle not Clarkson - the latter just hates foreigners and poor people instead of exploiting them and making money out of them on telly like he former does, the dullard!)

I am embarrassed to be from Bolton watching it.......
Best new comedy I have seen for a long while especially that Boyle character - so thick it is completely unbelievable!
Forget Mrs Browns Boys - this is far funnier!

What a great weekend of Entertainment, kicked off on Saturday morning watching "Yesterday TV."
First was Nazi Collaborators then Nazi Hunters.
In between popping on here and The BBC News site to check on the Gaza and Iraq situation.
Then turned on the radio for our game, soon as I heard our team my spirits dropped.
Listened to the game they dropped even more.
It 's pissed down most of the day and to finish it off I'm watching.
"The Pianist"

Stick some Leonard Cohen on and hit yourself in the face repeatedly with something heavy just to round it all off......
It's great being a Bolton fan!

Has anyone here seen the film "Straw Dogs"? Particularly the 2011 remake starring James Marsden and Kate Bosworth? I'd be interested to hear your opinion on this movie as there is a rape scene that has ignited some interest and dialogue. The comments re Ched Evans brought it to mind and I just saw the movie again on HBO. If you haven't seen it, give it a look and let me know what you think!

I remember seeing the original version. Ironically the censor insisted on cutting part of the rape scene and as a result it looked like she was raped anally. A pretty unpleasant film altogether but I am not a Sam Peckinpah fan.

Horizon on BBC 2 at 9 pm tonight and also Wednesday night looks like an interesting documentary. It's all about the food we eat and whether red meat is harmful to our health. BoltonBonce and Magoo should enjoy this programme.

I watched the original at the time and censorship was just about to change in the UK - Ken Russell, Peckinpah, Kubrick and others were pushing the boundaries.Keegan wrote:Has anyone here seen the film "Straw Dogs"? Whichever way you stack it up, the plot does involve a brutal gang rape, but I wouldn't call it gratuitous - it's intrinsic to the plot and the relationships between the characters - which is what the film is really about.

Just watched Good Morning, Vietnam. Robin Williams is good in it but I didn't like his character at all. He was arrogant and ignorant, but maybe the director was trying to make the point that the Americans didn't understand the Vietnamese at all. I'm not really convinced but there is a moving speech near the end by Tuan, although it is then undermined by the stupid baseball scene afterwards.

The "brutal gang rape" was handled differently in the remake - which is why I specifically mentioned it. I just watched that scene in the original and the common thread is that in both instances (more so in the original) she fought in the beginning but seemed to get into it as it went along. The other dude was the one she was pissed at but I will agree that she was brutally raped. The ambiguity with the first dude is what has raised some discussions online though.
