Just seen Interstellar. Worth seeing at an IMAX as it is spectacular but the plot is pretty crappy. It reminded me of a contemporary take on 2001 in some ways. So 3 stars out of 5.

some of the nods to 2001 were cringeworthy honestly.

the monolithic structures everywhere.... ok Nolan we get it you liked 2001.

He needs to go to a Robert McKee lecture, he can't write scripts.

It's about time you did something with the Mrs instead of playing on your XBox or play station all the time! Evil or Very Mad

When did I say I was taking her?

She's staying at home doing my ironing and stuff.

She's been out once this year already back in May.

Don't want her getting too comfortable......

Also Scrotal Recall was funny as well, if you've not seen it its about a man who gets chlamydia and has to contact all his old girlfriends to break the bad news!

It's not on yet, but there's a trailer for Real Housewives of Cheshire which really gets my goat, it talks about 4x4s, WAG style houses etc cos 'no one would choose to live in Bolton'. Now admittedly I may not be Boltons best advocate, not living there any longer myself, and it may have its faults, but I hate pandering to the view of many southerners who have never gone further up the country than Hampstead Heath that it's grim oop north.

Living in Warrington,I get to see some of these obnoxious cows at first hand.
Even their dogs have their own plastic surgeons.

The wife's parents still live in their council house in Little Hulton but her uncle (Dad's brother) lives in a big house in Pointon with his shrew-faced wife.

And I know which ones I'd rather end up on a desert island with......

Mrs B has told me tales of going there as a kid for "Dinner" (Tea to you and me) and being served one small ham sandwich (one slice cut in two) and a bourbon biscuit (singular).

They had meat once a week on a Sunday and existed on soup and sandwiches for the rest of the week, as all their money went on the mortgage, flash clothes, Golf Club membership and generally trying to fit in with their neighbours.

Even now, all we get off them for Christmas is a box of biscuits which are normally about a month out of date, ie cheap.

Life's too short for that shit.
