Anyone seen 'The Killing' ? I have just finished Season 2 and when the killer was finally revealed I can honestly say I never saw that one coming. A good murder mystery with plenty of red herrings to muddy the waters.
Film and TV review.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!
Thinking about watching breaking bad as it seems quite popular and I've never seen it. Has anyone else watched it? Is it really that good or just overrated?
Another one is blacklist. Thinking of giving that a go as well. Can anyone recommend?

Breaking Bad's brilliant. It starts slow, first series has some very funny parts as the story and characters develop it gets darker and darker.

Breaking Bad is totally overrated, it's become the show to watch if you want to appear cool. Bryan Cranston was better in 'Malcolm In The Middle', a great show in comparison.
The Blacklist is well above average, the performance of James Spader takes it into the outstanding category. Never has there been such a likable bad guy.

You may also want to see "Better Call Saul" which is a spin-off of Breaking Bad. Early days yet, but with a similar tone and feel. Enjoying it so far.

All rubbish.
I've just bought a Dixon of Dock Green box set.
I hope to progress to Z cars later in the year.

Breaking Bad is the Dogs Bollocks. Gus Fring has a similar presence to Anton Chigurh.

Fortitude - What are we all thinking?
Bit of a slow burner initially but gathering pace every week and developing nicely in my view.

Need to check out Fortitude, watching House of Cards season 3 at the moment, think it's the best season so far.

I have watched Season 1 and 2. Brilliant show. Kevin Spacey is perfect for the role as the scheming bastard who gets the top job. His missus is just as devious as well.

Breaking Bad is currently the highest rated crime drama series of all time on IMDB.
It's very addictive, I just don't think it's got the same class as The Sopranos, The Wire, etc.
For me, it's similar TV to Dexter. Excellent for thrill-seekers, but just doesn't come with the novelty of being being believable and having an authentic feel to it. I mean are we really supposed to believe that a timid chemistry teacher could turn into the world's most notorious drug dealer overnight?
It's addictive because the plot is easy to follow, whereas The Sopranos is subtle, has a much slower build-up, a lot more sub-plots, and on the whole is a lot more difficult to watch, but more stylish in my opinion.

If you stuck with it I reckon you'd enjoy it Hipster, as RT says he plays the devious bastard brilliantly. It's seriously well done IMO.

Fortitude?
Are we talking Scandinavian 'types' in big jumpers again?
Might give it a go when I've finished my 'Still Game' box set.

I have season 3 of House of Cards but it will have to wait until I'm up to date on Archer.

I've given up on it. It tries too hard to combine a Twin Peaks/Lost kind of atmosphere with a Scandinavian thriller plot and has far too many ridiculous things going on. A waste of some good acting talent.
