Wessy, you can disagree with a view without calling it 'stupid'. You're allowed to, anyway.

I don't think the met are good to be honest (yeah we agree), but surely not stupid enough to re open a case that involved the parents being the culprits.
Sorry SK i don't know what a pisskick is? guessing not complimentary. But i do know that i hope against hope that they find the child, if that makes me a fanny or a pisskick, guess i have broad enough shoulders to take the insult.
Keegan: agree it doesn't have to be stupid just because someone disagrees, BUT when it really is stupid then it needs pointing out.

I'd rather you justified your thoughts that everyone should stop looking for a little girl just because you're bored by it all, rather than tell us you don't care about anybody on the forum's opinion.@Soul Kitchen wrote:Well glad you feel it's stupid. Totally agree! The Mccans will have to live with the guilt of leaving their young children alone that night and that is something, that me and my Mrs would never have considered, especially at such a young age.@Norpig wrote:for what its worth i don't think they had anything to do with it, but the guilt of leaving those kids alone will haunt them forever
Even though me and my Mrs are Mr & Mrs average, we still have some common sense, unlike the two highly qualified Doctors.

Got to be seen to be doing something given all the who aah. The fact they more than likely balls up in the first place wouldn't come into it!
I wondered from day one how they would have handled it had it been one of their own gone missing, instead of the child of a pair of British holidaymakers more intent on socialising than babysitting?

Well the mother is in the Daily Mail again, I'm beginning to wonder if she is getting paid from these articles now!!!

The Met have launched a major investigation in Portugal in onjunction with the local authorities. They have identified nine seperate indecent assaults/ abductions attempts on young girls in the area. None of these incidents were ever flagged up by the Portuguese police as being relevant at the time.
They have also compiled a list of potential suspects who they plan to track down and interview. Items recovered from the apartment on the night of the abduction have also been submitted for further forensic analysis. The cost of the operation will run into thousands and thousands of pounds.
If the police thought for one moment that the parents were in any way culpable then it is unlikely that they would have set up this new initiative.

To be fair to KP, I'm getting bit fed up of seeing Kate McCann looking all doe-eyed on telly, in soft focus, trying to assuage her obvious guilt at putting the chance to go and have a spot of dinner with her posh friends over her children's safety.
Terrible though it is, it's getting old and all these TV appearances do is give her a platform to show us how guilty she feels.
It won't bring her kid back.....

It might if someone sees her kids photo on the TV and then bumps into her in some far away place while on holiday.
All parents have done something stupid at some point, but in almost all cases they get away with it.
Shame on anyone for suggesting they should let it lie simply so you don't have to see their face on tv.
Twats.

Most parents wouldn't go on the piss at night in a foreign country and leave their kids alone asleep, its not as if they where just around the corner either , was it?

It's in the interest of finding her daughter to keep it in the public eye for as long as possible. They'll probably spend the rest of their lives doing it because anything else would be giving up hope. This notion that it's been 7 years so they should fuck off is ridiculous, would you really do something different in their shoes?

Why don't the media just fund a McCann room and lock the pair of them in it and let them bleat in peace!!
Ffs in the unlikely event of Maddie being alive , which would be great, do you think her adoptive parents will be out on the lash every night and leave her home alone!?
The pair of them should be thankful they can fund keeping her name in the spotlight, that should go some way to relieve the guilt. Others are less fortunate!!!

I'm a bit surprised at you SK in relation to this case. I'm guessing you are a parent yourself?
One thing I have always noticed over the years is that Brits tend to drop their guard when on holiday abroad. I'll hold my hand up and admit I've done it myself. In Greece, Portugal or Spain, you tend to relax your guard. You don't have to worry about Toe-rags pinching your hubcaps or the Wifes knickers off the washing line.
You are on holiday and chilling out. You forget about your circumstances back at home. It's a perfectly natural phenomenon. You have to take into account that both her parents were Doctors. They were probably very hard working people who were looking forward to the break and a spell of R & R. They let their guard down and it cost them their daughter.

You don't leave THREE children aged three and under unattended ANYWHERE - you simply don't.
Of course no one would ever think one or more of them might get taken but you simply don't leave three kids at that age alone.
Christ she even admits that Madeline asked her not to be left alone the night before!
I don't care that they are doctors - they simply didn't do the natural thing that any parent would automatically - and that is to look after their babies.
Unforgivable.
