Middlesbrough manager Tony Mowbray has departed the Championship club after three years at the Riverside.

Mowbray's assistant, Mark Venus, will temporary charge of the club for Friday's game against Doncaster.

Boro have won just three league matches from 12 this season and were knocked out of the Capital One Cup in the first round by League Two side Accrington.

Saturdays defeat against Barnsley left Middlesbrough in 16th place, 10 points off the play-offs.

I think he's Boro's Coyle.

Ex-player that came with a reputation for playing pretty football. Spirits high for first 18 months, but finally sacked after three years (long overdue) when it's plain obvious that he's a waste of space.

Pulis the early favourite.
