I can't see how you can advocate a shoot to kill policy in the case of the police in Lee Rigby's case and not a shoot to kill in Marine A's case here.
One of Rigby's murderers had a knife so could easily been shot in the leg and disabled rather than killed.
The likelyhood is that after being riddled with bullets from the helicopter the Afgahan would probably died anyway without Marine A's help.
At the end of the day the Afgahani and Rigby's murders went out to kill, the police and Marine A had the job to stop them.
Should they be punished then for how they did it?
