Our results have been good recently and I guess that is the only criterion used to assess our "form" - but that doesn't tell anything like the whole story.
There's an old cliche about "fine margins" deciding matches and that's certainly been applicable to us.
Even the best teams lose the occasional game due to an off day or a bit of bad luck, but you can recognise a top team from a mile away - they dominate play and you can sense that "it's only a matter of time before they score".
Not feeling that at all with us.
We've scraped a few results as much by luck and organised defending as anything else, but I can't recall us dominating the opposition and winning comfortably in recent times.
So are we any better than other teams in this league?
IMO we're marginally better than some and marginally worse than others.
Results have improved, but we're still dependent on luck to see us through - the fine margins have been going in our favour recently whereas they went against us earlier in the season.
We wouldn't have won at Brum if they'd been awarded that nailed on pen at the end and we wouldn't have won at Watford if Almunia hadn't made a cockup - we've been getting the breaks for a change.
At least we're not as suicidal at the back as we were, but we have a long way to go before we will be able to rise above the rest in this division.
We're average at the moment - results don't tell the whole story.
