Christmas Trees

We usually get a real one from Bolton Tree Company near Chorley Old Road, but last year's was absolutely crap and we may try somewhere else this year. Either way, it may be the last one we have that isn't artificial as £30 a year isn't cheap.

Do you get an authentic (if so, can you recommend a place) or artificial tree?

I won't have either in the house. As an atheist I don't do Christmas,so it can piss off. Along with my obnoxious relatives who seem to arrive at any old time of the day expecting to be fed. They then spend the entire afternoon lounging around in outlandish knitware devouring my entire supply of Terry's all gold whilst hogging the TV remote. They have the cheek to bring their vile offspring with them,who,when they are not breaking wind are breaking my china. This year I'm locking myself in my little study with a box set of Seinfeld and not coming out until January 1st.

I have never really seen the point of having a real Christmas tree plus we have a dog so probably wouldn't be a good thing either.

Artificial all the way for me and you can get some really nice ones if you look around. We have a big white one (can't remember the size so will update when it's out of the loft soon!) from next that cost around £60 and we have had it around 3/4 years now so it has already paid for itself if a real one costs around £30.

Plus I feel it's a lot less faffing around with artificial.

Pay about £40 for an 8 foot one- down to about £20 for a four footer.
Always a really big selection available and they'll log it and net it for you- and best of all they'll put in in or on your vehicle. We've got ours for years from there. We've got a dog too and although he has a good sniff at it he never pees on it

No-never had that problem. They seem to hold their needles well

No-never had that problem. They seem to hold their needles well

I was under the impression a lot came off and from what people said I knew that had them in the past.

That's what put us off in the past really.

But from what you have said, this doesn't really seem the case.

They spray trees with some shit that stops the needles falling off now apparently.

You can use strong hold hair spray.

We have an artificial tree and I just love going in to the loft every December for the Xmas decorations, NOT! Seriously though, Trebaron garden centre in Newton-Le-Willows do half price Xmas decorations, including trees straight after Xmas. They don't sell rubbish either and they are much cheaper than Bents garden centre.
