Poor editing, now what is your point ? Are you saying LL is brilliant and a fantastic manager, do you want him to replace DF ?Reebok Trotter wrote:carrs wrote:

Lenny Lawrence is actually respected by other managers. One manager wrote in his autobiography, " There were others of the old school who were survivors because they had a work ethic you had to admire. If I went to a reserve game, John Rudge and Lenny Lawrence would be there."
Should Freedman get the sack?

Can't remember a predictions thread like that Stan. If it was pre-season "hopes" I'd be in the 95%.
I'm a bit disappointed that Birmingham and Watford have let me down but other than that I wasn't far off the mark. Leicester and QPR look like taking the automatic places but Ipswich and Forest could feature in the play-offs.

Poor editing? I'm not sure what you mean? The quote I mentioned was by Alex Ferguson from his recent autobiography. The fact he mentioned Lenny Lawrence indicates to me that unlike you, Ferguson rates him.

I never understand it when people moan about Assistant Managers, all of their work is done out of the public eye so how any fan can judge their performance is completely beyond me.

One of the more entertaining performances lately came in the Blackpool cup game when we played two front men. Admittedly we lost our bottle late on and defended deeper inviting them on to us. Next game we reverted to hoof ball to the isolated one up front.
Interesting to hear the Reading manager (7-1) yesterday extolling the virtues of keeping a settled team. Nuff said

Who mentioned what he does. I ain't got a clue what he does. I called him a pensioner which he is. In football when the boss gets the push it's normal his assistant would go unless you keep them on as a caretaker.bwfc1874 wrote:I never understand it when people moan about Assistant Managers, all of their work is done out of the public eye so how any fan can judge their performance is completely beyond me.

Facts not insults you see.
You mentioned planning first so show us some evidence of planning by DF LL in preparation for a campaign to see us promoted.
This is what you wrote. I responded by suggesting that greater football brains than yours, rated Lenny. Is that better?

It really is incredible. Ok, we're not world-beaters playing 4-4-2 but at least we might score a few goals and win the odd game. Yet Dougie is holding onto this one upfront bollocks that isn't working at all - it's as though he has to keep playing it until it does work.
This is why the guy should be sacked. A good manager knows when something isn't working.
I stand by my recent comment that if we'd played 4-4-2 all season with two wingers we'd be much higher up the league.

I was talking in general to be honest there are plenty of fans who criticise him. You did say something about him just waiting to be offed which implies you don't rate him.

You rate those other people and suggest LL had a hand in a plan nobody is aware of. A plan that appears to be a road to relegation. What shall I do blame the management team or myself ?Reebok Trotter wrote:carrs wrote:

I haven't the foggiest clue what it is that you are trying to express. All I'm saying is..... you clearly don't rate Lenny Lawrence but others involved with football do rate him.

I didn't say I don't rate him. I said I don't know what he does. I do however expect him to get the push with DF especially as he brought him along with his other buddies who are making such a shambles of the job.

You could have fooled me! I'll tell you what he does. He is our assistant manager and Dougie's right hand man.
I would agree with you that if Dougie were to be sacked then Lenny would probably follow him out of the door as well. All managers tend to want their own people working with them at the helm.

Well if nothing else the U21's manager seems to be doing something right as they actually win now and again which cannot be said from those in post at the last few regimes!Reebok Trotter wrote:carrs wrote:

With such a big title you'd expect him to have an influence with the managers decisions wouldn't you. With such respect you say he has you would have thought DF took on board what he says and things would have got better not worse.Reebok Trotter wrote:carrs wrote:

Heck, if we played half the Nuts and a few grannies on the team, we would be higher placed!Natasha Whittam wrote:Barryjw wrote:One of the more entertaining performances lately came in the Blackpool cup game when we played two front men. In reality, let the stats speak for themselves. We score with two up. We lose with Knightmare on the pitch. We don't have a first rate goaltender in either Bogdan or Lonergan. We have not kept an eleven in place since Holden and CYL went down in preseason. Get us Dawson and a striker back and we can climb by playing two upfront. Simple logic when you go with the stats. If Eagles scores the most goals for us over a season, it's silly to sit him. If more goals are scored when Knightmare is on the pitch, sit him. Keep a consistent squad and let them establish a workflow and a rhythm.
Earth to Dougie... listen and learn what works. If not, put a computer on the bench to pick the squad each week. We certainly couldn't do much worse.

I don't go on facebook very often, but I've just been looking at one of the Bolton Wanderers fans fans groups and there seems to be one particular rumour that if we lose to Bournemouth on Saturday, Dougie will be sacked and Jimmy Phillips will be brought in until the end of the season.scottjames30 wrote:If freedman goes, all his staff go with him, fresh start IMO .
It's probably a load of bollocks!
