Hope you're surviving the weather down there Magoo. Not nice from what I've seen.

I genuinely feel he has an identical mindset to Gary Megson. His mantra seems to be "don't concede" so he plays super defensive even though Stevie Wonder could see (a) our defensive play is rubbish to begin with and (b) it doesn't work.Norpig wrote:He has to go, 2 home wins all season and today we let slip a 2 goal lead because he is happy to try and shut up shop when we lead. Why can everyone other than Freedman see that we can't defend a lead?
With our squad we should be going after the opposition from the get go and we know we're almost certain to concede at least one in every match so we know we have to score to get even a point. That being the case we should really be going after goals all day, as many as possible because we know we're unlikely to keep a clean sheet so we might as well attack.
Sadly in Dougie-land the idea of having TWO strikers on the pitch and an ATTACKING style of play is inconceivable, it brings him out in cold sweats. I bet when we scored the second he had vertigo and palpitations because we had more than one player in the final third. Even as the ball was crossing the line for the goal he was likely more worried about "holes at the back" than the fact we'd scored a second goal. Then when we conceded one he instantly went into panic mode and we sat back, deep enough to see the bottom of the Marianas Trench and let Bournemouth have all the possession. As usual we made a dumb mistake at the start of the second half because the "inspiring" team talk meant our lads hadn't managed to wake up yet and suddenly a two nil lead was gone, we were desperately sitting back to soak up the pressure that the Mighty Bournemouth put us under and we scraped a draw which in Dougie-Land was a fabulous result against an amazing world class team.
I wish I was joking but I don't think I am any more. Another horror show on the Trotters magical mystery tour of nowhere-ville.

Magoo, is there any chance you can replace your avatar with the image of the bloke with the glasses on?
I seem to have more respect for you when you had that!

A guy from Tower FM asked him if he was going to be getting anyone in during the loan window, his response was something along the lines of... ''I will have to meet with the board and see.''
Means nothing but doesn't exaclty sound great.

Transl: "I have to go and beg them on my knees to sanction funding a loan for an exciting prospect who will immediately go on the bench because he's not quite match fit and won't be until two weeks before the end of the season/loan term whichever is sooner by which time I'll say he hasn't come on quite the way I hoped he would as my reason for leaving him on the bench because I don't dare admit I signed another lemon for the midfield while I sent Jermaine Beckford out on loan to Kidderminster Harriers"aaron_bwfc wrote:A guy from Tower FM asked him if he was going to be getting anyone in during the loan window, his response was something along the lines of... Cynical? Maybe. Accurate? Wouldn't surprise me a bit if I turn out to be a prophet.

It's now the perfect time to sack Freedman.
What better game for a new manager than Burnley at home. Bumper crowd, bit of atmosphere, and a Bolton victory would really bring a buzz back to the club.
Unfortunately it'll take a home defeat to the Dingles to remove the clown.

Not sure about it being the perfect time, but it's as good a time as any.
We're in "Megson must go" territory again for me.
Gartside gambled and the manager failed to deliver.
Megson's brief was to stay in the lower reaches of The Prem, not get relegated and keep the fans on board.
Two out of three weren't enough because he stopped people coming through the turnstiles by calling us pathetic.
Freedman's brief was obviously to consolidate, ship out the high-earning deadwood and keep us competitive in the Championship.
Again....two out of three but no cigar but for different reasons this time.
We are shit and we may actually go down again.
See ya Doug........
He'll be gone this time next week.
You heard it here first.
