Thanks to Sky broadband cocking up my ISP switch,I've been offline for 5 days! 5 bloody days! I've been unable to bank, shop, email, pay bills,in fact my life has been brought to a standstill. It got me to wondering about how big a part the web now plays in our lives, and the impact it has when you're denied access to it. Could you live without the web? How may hours a week do you spend staring at a computer screen? Too many possibly? Anyway, it's nice to be back. I see most of you are still talking complete bollocks, and that I won last months racing thread(good idea about the e/w bets RT). Although I lost a packet on the Broncos in the Superbowl.

I wondered where you had got to! I am glad to see your computer is up and running again. It always amazes me how major industry is held to ransom by IT failure. Nowadays people seem to be incapable of working without their computers.
What happened to paper records? All banks should train their staff to use paper records which can then be stored until such time as normal transmission is resumed.

Did you not request a MAC code to migrate from 1 company to another BB?

I could easily live without the internet, I hardly use it if truth be told.

I am a bit of a thinker. I suspect that if I'm dead in 1000 years people will think of me as some sort of great philosopher like Socrates.

SKY - ''we're the best for broadband'' until you use two laptops in the same room and the net cuts off for 10 minutes every fooking hour. Bloody top notch broadband.
