Reduced wages is good, short term is good - all providing he maintains improved performance and doesn't go back to making almighty cock ups - and the reduction is sufficient to give Dougie some wriggle room in the market.
Would prefer a fresh start with a new player though.

i would let him go, i can't see him taking a massive pay cut anyway and the money can be used elsewhere.

We have Ream, Mills, Wheater and Baptiste who can play centre half anyway

the wages would have to be drastically reduced as i imagine he is on a decent wedge.

And then he would only be fourth choice as i hope we will be bringing in more people in the summer.

As for Eagles and chungy, i think we would be better off without both of them.  What we need in this division is players who can do a job in this division and they "should" cost less than these two.

I think one of the things DF has done well is clear out some of our high earners but i know a few (Mears being the prime candidate) who would rather not even be on the bench and still collect his huge (thanks to coyle) pay packet.  Jobs for the lads and all that!

Saying that i think he does need to start bringing through some more of the younger lads and giving them a few more minutes pitch time.  i think once we are safe from relegation that is what he should do.

It could make or break them but at least he will have an idea of whether he will have to dip into the transfer budget to recruit or whether we already have the talent at our disposal.

Bye bye.

Just because he has had a few good games recently doesn't mean he won't revert to his old self again. Too expensive and too mistake prone to keep.

Amazing that some bellends would still keep him on the books - has the last 3 games made you forget the last 3 years?

Idiots.

Just like voters - short memories.

He's playing for his next job, I think. He isn't going to improve next year.

Goodbye and thanks for all the fish.  ::bwfc::

Good squad member who can step in and do a good job when needed, never moans even with all the stick he takes, hit some form of late and is a great crosser of the ball. As long as he wants to stay on the correct reduced salary then why not keep him.

Originally taken from the Restaurant At The End Of The Universe, part of the Hitch Hiker's Guide to The Galaxy Series. Later in that same series Douglas Adams provided a fourth book in his trilogy called So Long And Thanks For All The Fish.

I think there might even be FIVE books in that trilogy now.  Very Happy

I'd already typed the "Goodbye" when I remembered the Hitchhiker series... good spot, RT!  What a Face
