Wanderers boss Neil Lennon has labelled 'special' Chung-Yong Lee as one of the best talents in the Championship.
Lennon has switched the Korean forward centrally since his arrival last month and has reaped the rewards with a string of sensational performances from the 26-year-old who is set to play of his national side's friendly in Jordan today.
Two goals in his last three games has seen the former FC Seoul man pick up the club's Player of the Month award for October with an overwhelming 65 per cent of the fans' vote ahead of Andy Lonergan and Matt Mills.
But rather than accept the plaudits himself, the White boss says it is Chung-Yong who deserves all the credit for his man-of-the-match displays.
Lennon told the club: "In Lee Chung-Yong I have a really special talent and a tremendous footballer.
"He’s getting better and better in his performances and he’s a joy to watch.
“We’ve got one of the best talents in the league, no doubting that.
"He’s got the vision to play people in with a first-time pass.
"He glides across the pitch and technically he’s a wonderful player."
Chung-Yong has bounced back to his best under the new manager after an indifferent couple of years.
A serious double leg break in pre-season 2011 ruled him out of virtually the whole of the following season as the Whites were relegated from the Premier League.
On his return to the side, it seemed the Korean was struggling to adapt to a more physical style of football in the Championship.
He scored just three goals in 50 appearances last season and is only one short of that total in 19 outings this term.
Having worked with Korean players at his previous club Celtic, though, Lennon says there was never any doubts Chung-Yong would be up for the battle in the second tier as far as he was concerned.
He added: "I think he’s over the psychological barrier of his injury.
"It can take it out of you when you pick up a bit of a bad injury like that.
“Since we’ve come through the door he has competed physically, both in the air and on the ground.
“I was blessed to work with a couple of Korean players at Celtic who were terrific footballers and Chungy is right up there as well.
“He’s really showing his class now.”
