I was looking in the fridge earlier and thought, I fancy an egg for my dinner. Then I thought, how shall I have the egg.

Then it came to me.....Eggy Bread!
I haven't had eggy bread for absolutely yonks.

I then began to think about other food stuffs that I haven't had in a while.

Faggots
Fish and Chips from chip oil
Both came to mind.

I had to then stop thinking about food and start eating it instead.

What food stuffs have you not had in ages?

I have a friend who lives in rural Lincolnshire who I haven't visited for a while.

When I visit him we take his shotgun and shoot pigeon and partridge over decoy on the adjaecent farm. We then cook and eat anything we kill.

I haven't been to see him since 2010, and they're not the kind of thing you buy at Asda.

I should point out that the shotgun is legal, he has permission to hunt from the landowner, and that pigeons are classed as an agricultural pest. The only legally tenuous bit is when he hands me the gun and I pop up and have a bang.

I have been trying to tell you.

I wouldn't consider my mate working class though. They live in a farmhouse, his missus is a secondary school deputy head and he is a secondary school head of department and academic director of a tutoring company.

Was thinking about this and was going to mention venison as I thought it had been a couple of years and then realised I only had it about 6 weeks ago.

But Kangaroo steaks, not had since I was last in Australia!

I'd never eaten game before, it is a bit strange compared to the usual chicken/beef/lamb/pork. I've had rabbit and duck.

Very interesting experience taking a dead pigeon home, cutting its breasts out, and pan frying them and having them on posh toast as a starter.

I am a rubbish shot. My eyesight in my right eye isn't great, and I am right handed. I do like firing guns though, I go to firing ranges when I am in the US. Had a go on a Beretta carbon rifle last time. Awesome.

I have never tried Pheasant or Rabbit but I have had Ostrich steak and that was delicious.

Tripe and Trotters. Tripe has to be cold with a generous portion of salt and vinegar. I can't eat tripe boiled in milk. Sacrilege.

Parched peas. It's a pain in the arse having to wait till Halloween.
