Your last point is questionable, would throwing a man from a building and stoning him to death with no trial at all be fair for any crime?

If he was caught abusing kids or raping women, yes.

I don't think anyone truly knows.

At the risk of boring people I strongly recommend watching the documentary film 'Bitter Lake' which explains as good as anything I know as to how we have got to where we are on the Muslim extremism.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p02gyz6b/adam-curtis-bitter-lake

I think the only way forward in a way the west would like would be for the Saudi royal family to denounce the worst of the barbarism of the practices of the faith as practiced by the ultra concervative followers of that religion.

The film though shows however that that is not going to happen because they are fairly certain if they did that they would lose their power, wealth and probably their heads too.

It would seem (like it or not) those that actually knew how to balance power and religious extremism in their respective muslim countrys, have been seen as tyrants and civil rights abuses in the western world - ie the Saddam's, Gadaffi's and Assad's, or have been run more or less by the military, such as Egypt and Pakistan.

All of the wests involvement in this religious minefield (and also the power base of the religion in financial terms) is purely down to the need for oil.

If and when the west can break its dependence on this commodity, the sooner we can start letting the matter return to a regional problem rather than a global one.

The Chinese have not medaled in middle eastern politics or religion and from what I can tell they don't seem to suffer from the wrath of the Islamic extremists.

They have also not opened their boarders to allow anyone and everyone into their country either!

Islam will not take over the world - it's had a thousand years already and still hasn't taken over India yet - so it won't swamp China, Russia, the Americas, etc anytime soon - but we have to accept that as long as we rely on the middle eastern / north african oil, and we meddle in those country's internal politics, and we let their believers unfettered access to our country's, then we will leave ourselves open to terrorism and an anti-western backlash.

That's my view of things anyway.

How would I know, I don't subscribe to ISIS websites. I use eBay and Amazon like normal people.

Dear God it just gets worse -

Video published online by Islamic State militants claims to show Jordanian pilot Moaz al-Kasasbeh being burned alive

Christ, no real surprise he was killed - I don't think IS really gave a shit about getting back a woman who'd been in prison for 10 years, but what a way to go. Incredibly public feeling against being part of the coalition has grown since this pilot was missing, tends to go the other way in the West. Kind of supports Hipsters point about where Muslim sympathies lie I suppose.

The pilot may have been a rapist though? Lets not rush to judgement.

Not for the faint hearted but all the more reason why these fcuking cave dwellers deserve to feel the full weight of justice when their day of judgement comes.

Hipster_Nebula wrote:This is an interesting video, a group of british Muslims discussing ISIS, some seem dead against ISIS idea of the Caliphate others seem to think it's just under Islam, some seem sort of in the middle.

It does underline that not all "moderate" muslims are against this, and not all "moderate" muslims are for it either, but it's certainly not cut and dry as the politicians would have you believe.

but they all agree that the word of Allah as laid out in the Quran and Hadith trumps everything else.

More debates like this at a higher level would be very interesting to me, instead of shying away from them because of fear.

Just watched this, I think your spot on. This kind of debate needs to be held more regularly and publicised more, worrying to see that 2 out of a small group of 6 are pretty clearly in favour of a caliphate in the UK. Is it just me or did these 2 also seem the least articulate in the group?

I still stand by the majority of Muslims being against it, but the more and more you read around the subject it's clear there's a significant portion who aren't.

Open debates like this with senior Imams and ordinary Muslims might help, probably not being done because the government would rather the view is maintained that it's a minority who feel this way.

Openly condemning Islam as a whole will only perpetuate the problem I think, continuing to do very little clearly isn't working. I really don't know what the answer is.

Very interesting.Thank The Lord that Sharia law will never be the law of the land in England.
The ladies talked the most sense and two of the other Muslim chaps seemed to be quite liberal.
However there were two who were indoctrinated so much as to kill someone for having a differant sexuality, proves how dangerous some people can be.
I think the Muslim section of society do not help themselves, albeit a small section griping about trivial things. These things are then picked up by the papers such as the Daily Mail and people in general get fed up of hearing this and that, then generalize.

Fair enough, but when she wears a Burkha you should start worrying.
