If so, I'm glad Neil managed to persuade him as Luzon didn't want him to go on loan. More than that, I hope he finds the form he had last year.

The flaw in the plan with all this is, we can take someone on loan, but unless they're a Big club like Chelsea or Man U, then they'll want the player back immediately if someone gets injured which will leave us back to square one. Bournemouth's Kermagant being a good example.
In that respect we've dodged a bullet.
Now that Wilson has signed a contract with Man U, maybe they're prepared to let him out

I thought Lennon said something about this in his post match conference?bwfc1874 wrote:Nothing close today according to Nixon.

Most loan deals these days involve a fee - therefore in most cases the loaning club can't recall their player under any circumstances.

Not sure that that's right. It's my understanding West Brom had a recall clause over Dawson and we paid a loan fee for him.Natasha Whittam wrote:FullofSprite wrote:The flaw in the plan with all this is, we can take someone on loan, but unless they're a Big club like Chelsea or Man U, then they'll want the player back immediately if someone gets injured which will leave us back to square one. You can put any clause in any contract.

Nat's right, loans with fees tend not to involve recall clauses.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!
Only thing that worries me is its rumoured to be a 3 month deal. Come January we'll be back in the shite where we started. We want him to do well, obviously. But if he scores a shed load we'll have no chance of getting him back. Catch 22.

Pretty much ties up with the opening of the January transfer window, just after the Rovers match, so I guess it would be a case of reviewing the situation then.Bwfc1958 wrote:Only thing that worries me is its rumoured to be a 3 month deal. Slightly concerned now as nothing seems to be happening.
Another thought is there's (another) two week international break after QPR so maybe it's being delayed in order to allow the loan period to take in the bunch of games around xmas/new year?

Apparently Vetokele is recovering from an achilles injury he played through most of last season and doesn't want to move until he's fully fit.

So does that mean Lennon is targeting somebody else or is he prepared to wait for Igor?

No idea, that's from a South London newspaper so I'd imagine there's some truth in it, doesn't tell us anything from our end though unfortunately.

All a bit confusing. He has a decent scoring record and his manager wants to keep him, so why would he want that if he's not a playing option? Surely they wouldn't even consider loaning him out if he was still genuinely injured?

Fallen out with people at the club, they need his wages to reinforce other positions. I think the manager wanting to keep him is just posturing.

I watched that bastard Mears playing in the MLS yesterday.
He actually looked quite decent.
