Never do that again.
I've bookmarked the page to check it out at a later date.
You've just started a secret savings account, haven't you....?
And is "Blue Peter Badge" slang for something rude?

Also being able to govern ourselves and not being over ruled by that Nazi bitch Merkel.
We would also probably save a hell of a lot of money not being in Europe and being able to spend it on more valuable sources.
We simply have our own control over what we do with outer money.
I have never wanted to be in Europe to this extent but trade agreements are fair enough and every country needs them.
I've simply never been a fan along with that bloody channel tunnel as well!
The economic arguments for leaving the EU have proven weak to non-existent. I don't mean the constant scare stories from number 10, but a multitude of evidence from the IFS, OEDC, IMF etc. Plus the fact Europe would want to deter other members from filling your lead by making out deal as shit as possible.
Why is Merkel a Nazi?
Why don't you like the channel tunnel?

Still don't get what would change KP. We already control our own borders - plus we have the help of our European partners to filter out most of the crap before we even have to deal with it. I suppose if we didn't get help from Europe we'd just have to increase our border security which is basically just going to cost us more and make everyone poorer - so I don't understand how this is a benefit. Just looks like more taxes to me.
Not quite sure how Europe rules over us either. Every decision they make we participate in the process and then ratify the final deal so surely we are in complete control already? We can change anything we don't like and anyway, everything we sign up to has been negotiated by our politicians in the first place. So again, where's the advantage of leaving?
I suppose we could always drown our sorrows with good old British "champagne" once our specialist export products are no longer protected by Europe.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!
If we did leave and it turned out to be shit, can we not just join up again or would they just tell us to piss off? Who decides who can be part of it (the EU)?

EU member states decide who can join and every state has a veto - which is why Turkey will NOT be joining the EU anytime soon as France and Germany and several other states do not want Turkey to join.
As for renegotiating our entry that is a complete non-starter for two reasons. Firstly we would be in a weak position as would anybody who left a club and then tried to rejoin on better terms and secondly the EU has no desire to expand at the moment (as the Scots would have found out if they had voted for independence).

I won't be here on Voting day, so I rang up about a postal vote, said they would send me a form to fill in enabling me to vote.
Forms came this morning but they're for a Proxy vote, not postal, so I can't be bothered now.
Would've voted to stay.

Just watching the EU debate on Channel 4 and I have to say I am still on the fence at the moment. Nevertheless..there seems to be an awful lot of TV time devoted to the benefits of staying in the EU. Almost to the point where I am starting to find the whole business rather suspicious. It's like there is something we are not being told. Are the pro Europe campaigners part of a Big Brother type private members club for those in the know?
The more we keep hearing of the benefits in remaining the more I am tempted to voted out.

Maybe the explanation is that there are very few arguments for leaving the EU. I am not a great believer in conspiracy theories.
Plus you only have to look at the people that support leaving (Farage, Boris, etc) to know you don't want to be in their camp.

I could have been tempted, but you'd essentially be handing power over our future to Boris, Farage and Gove, which cannot be allowed to happen.

We're in it now RT so we pretty much know what the benefits are - it's just that we take them for granted. For me, we don't need reasons to change because the reality is it ain't so bad being in Europe and we benefit from the all deals we've negotiated over the last 40 years.Reebok Trotter wrote:Just watching the EU debate on Channel 4 and I have to say I am still on the fence at the moment. But if we're going to change, there ought to be very good reasons for that, especially as there's a possibility that we may lose the benefits we currently enjoy.
Therefore I think it's down to the leave group to provide a list of benefits of why we should change - whereas the stay party don't need to list the benefits to convince me.

I think the government have fucked this one up big time. Nothing wrong with saying they want to stay in the EU if that's their preferred option - but the way they've tried to make out Armageddon will hit the UK should we leave has just pissed people off.
I suspect a lot of people will tick the 'leave' box just to piss Cameron off. I might be one of them.

they have gone over the top in the remain campaign but some of the stuff i've seen from the leave camp, especially UKIP beggars belief.
Showing a war cemetery and making out soldiers died for our freedom in Europe so don't give it up to Brussels is in very bad taste i think

I agree that the remain campaign has been poorly handled but I find the leave campaign so blatantly dishonest as to be offensive.
To give another example it is incredible that they still pretend that we make a net contribution to the EU of £350m a week ignoring all the money and subsidies that come back to us. There is no way that if we leave even a fraction of this £350m is going to be avilable to spend on the NHS or anything else.

Amazes me when Tory voters are shocked by the way Cameron's ran his campaign my parents reaction was the same as Nat's, they've done the same in both general elections remember if Labour got voted in then Alex Salmond would take control of Westminster? They're seemingly incapable of running an honest campaign, fear is what they rely on.
