Did they not have season tickets back then? When did they start?

They were a way of allocating tickets for popular matches in a way that gave regular attendees the first crack of the whip.
Back in the day nearly every game used to be pay on the gate (yes of course there were season tickets too), so for say away games you just travelled down to wherever it was we were playing that day and queued up at the turn style and went in.
If you couldn't get in, in your end you simply hid your colours and went into the home end instead.
Obviously this caused problems both in the ground and outside if a load of people could not get in.
So the idea of the big games being all ticket started.
To make it fair to those who always went you simply collected the tokens (from the previous match day programme's) and applied for your ticket to the big match.
If you weren't a regular or an armchair fan (was there any back then pre-Sky/Radio Nuts?) you only got your chance after those with tokens had taken first dibs.
Seemed fair enough at the time.

I refused to cut mine out because they defaced my programme.

I've just found a stash of Kendal Mint Cake. Could get messy.
I'll be hyper by midnight.

All I said to 'Siri' was "Bolton Wanderers".
She came back with....'The Wanderers aren't playing today. They were soundly beaten by the Senators on December 29th 1917. The final score was 9 to 2'.
Silly cow.

Tinned Toms - You know it makes sense!
Who the fuck karate chops a ketchup bottle to get the last bit out?

Standard food-grade PET ketchup bottles cost about 2p each.
If they're going to start coating them internally with that stuff, you can expect your bottle of sauce to start costing considerably more than it does now.
Leave it alone, I say.

I've been off sick for the past two days, and I'm going stir crazy. I've given up youtube for a bit because Tony Bomboni and Dr Dmitri keep turning up.
I watched the complete Fall And Rise Of Reginald Perrin yesterday,so that passed some time, but I'm struggling a bit now.
I've even considered a jigsaw, but thought better of it.
I'm now on ebay and amazon. I fear the worst.

You must have millions of DVD's and box sets to watch Boncey surely? You'll have to dig out the Brucie memorabilia again, make sure it's in good nick as he'll die any day soon and the price may go up

I'm on Twilight Zone and Father Ted for now. Just passed a full length mirror on my way to the bog,and was surprised to notice that I appear to be developing a Gandhi tribute act.

Did you catch SS-GB on Sunday?
I read it 30 years ago during an obsessive Len Deighton phase I went through.
If you can find it to download, I'd recommend it.
