If LibDems had not helped in the coalition then Tuition fees would have been uncapped and be around the £7K/year mark instead of 3K!  As for university for all, that did happen as anyone could still go and didn't have to start paying back until they were earning at least £70K!!!!   Also lets not forget that NUS agreed to the final proposition and Nick Clegg was actually voted back in by students!!!!

Also why is it "normal" people are up in arms about the tuition fees (which were actually created by labour), whilst students were more than happy with what happened?

But where was Labour, of course they were nowhere to be seen and didn't try to stop it form happening, in fact since Tony Blair Labour have not actually tried to be an opposition and have made any attempt to lock any of the Tory rip-off.  All was left to Libdems during the coalition!

Plus lets not forget what has Corbyn done since coming to power - agreed with Tories about a Hard Brexit and agreed with Tories about benefits caps, which is not going to be increased or removed - thus the poorest people in this country are going to suffer even more under Labour!

Corbyn is against a bad deal.  How many times does he have to say it you clown.  He is definitely against no deal what so ever.

If so you've got to love him!

The ACTUAL story is that I had an idea to do something a bit different on Nuts this time last year, by seeing how well a section on 'Bolton Town and District' would go, a sort of topical news item for those with an interest in the town - particularly the ones like me who have moved away but still have an interest in the old place.

I was hoping that rather like the 'Bolton Wanderers News' part of the forum, someone with an interest in the town, would post up a thread or two every day.

I thought who better than a prospective councillor would have his finger on the pulse of what is going on in and around the town.

I contacted Mr Amos and asked if he would like to do this and if he did we would make him a mod for that small section only, in case he may have need to merge or split threads.

He was delighted to undertake this for us and was in agreement to post new threads daily - he even told me that he was doing something similar on Facebook anyway for his Rumworth ward constituency where he had stood at the last election.

Once we made him a mod we hardly ever heard or saw him again though!!!

He did start two or three threads - which to be fair were quite popular, then after the first week or so disappeared for months at a time.

Because of his frequent long and conspicuous absences, this section never properly took off and became anything like as popular as I would have wished.

I know real life can and does come first before forums but Mr Amos posted copiously on Facebook (and the BN) all the time he was absent from here - so as far as I (and Nuts) are concerned his tenure as a mod on here was a complete and utter disaster and his given word of intending to be active on here - totally valueless.

I've no axe to grind with Chris - indeed I wish him well (although funnily enough I asked for his mod powers to be taken away from him a few days back) but if from his LinkedIn entry, any prospective employer contacts us, I would have no hesitation in telling them the truth of the matter!

Tbh this has given me a good laugh.

Today's the day as manda points out but I guess we won't hear anything until tomorrow and as we're 2 hours ahead here in rainy milos I won't be staying up late to find out. Postal vote went in last week but like manda im in an affluent constituency so although it's clear that the Tory majority will be cut in Broadlands they'll still win the seat.

It'll be interesting to see how mr burns squares away getting less votes and more seats with "a clear mandate" but that's for tomorrow.

Last time we knew on the first bong on news at 10, but now i am retired i will be staying up. the closer it is the longer i will stay. As Kevin Keegan said " I would love it just love it" if this backfired on the smug lady. She was in power she had a mandate but wanted or needed more. If she gets less i will laugh my head off.

If she gets less, were all buggered, as she only had a clear lead of about 5 or 6 I think. Can you imagine the chaos that will follow as they all argue and push to get what each one wants. I won't be helpful to anyone.

It would serve the daft cow right then for trying to exploit Corbyn's perceived vulnerability amongst the Labour membership.

She didn't need to call this election and she did it as some sort of opportunistic power grab.

And thanks to the fact that she's orchestrated a truly piss-poor campaign, hidden from the electorate and demonstrated that she's woefully inept on the big stage, it's going to bite her in her lizard arse.

I don't doubt the Tories will get in again and they may even improve their majority slightly but the damage is done.

Young people are coming back to Labour in their droves thanks to Jeremy Corbyn's excellent showing during this campaign and the future of the party is looking good.

In 5 years time after a series of disastrous Brexit negotiations which see us get shafted thanks to May and her team's ineptitude, we will see the tide shift again like it did under Tony Blair in 96.

Andy Burnham will lead the Labour Party to electoral success and herald a new era in British politics.
