They have just been looking for an excuse to get rid of him, Bristol academy said they had cleared him of any safeguarding issues yet the FA just now think he's guilty?

His reputation is in tatters for what seems like lots of rumours and innuendo. They are probably worried about a court case as well from Aluko

I would think Sampson might be thinking about legal action now though because this must have wrecked his career in this country (The FA has already paid up his contract to 2019 in FULL, obviously to swerve court action for unfair dismissal).

Below are two questions put to the FA Chief Exec that just about sums up the sorry mess -

"I can understand why people would say that but they are two very different things.
The concerns Eni Aluko raised were about perceived bullying and perceived racism. We have investigated those properly, there have been two separate investigations actually which have broadly concluded there's no systematic evidence for that.
This is a different issue, this is about his conduct before his time at the FA which we judge just isn't consistent with the standards that an FA employee needs to show".

Is Mark Sampson fit to work as a coach in football generally in your opinion?

Mark Sampson is absolutely clear to work as a coach in football.

But you don't think it's appropriate to work as the England coach when he can work elsewhere?

I think that's for other people to make their mind up. In terms of the standards we set at the FA and what we know about what happened, we are very clear about our decision".

So he's fine to work anywhere else in the world and even in this country but its not fine for him to work for the FA?

Would you employ somebody who your own governing body says isn't a fit and proper person to work for them???

Double standards?  PC witch hunt?

There's a bad smell about all of this.

It's definitely all to do with the FA being seen to be PC - the latest nonsense from them -

FA covers up 'Super White Army' banner at Tranmere Rovers

A "Super White Army" banner was covered up during an England football match after a picture of it was shared online by one of the team's top players.

The sign at Tranmere Rovers' ground was obscured by the FA for the Lionesses' World Cup qualifier on Tuesday, hours after Lucy Bronze shared it online.

Her post received criticism and praise.

Tranmere Rovers Supporters' Club said it did not know why it was covered, adding it was "not remotely racist" and referred to their team's shirts.

England's Lionesses had been embroiled in an ongoing row before the match over discrimination allegations made against the team's manager Mark Sampson, who has since been sacked over an unconnected matter.

The FA confirmed it took down the banner at Prenton Park but said it would be making no further comment.

Supporters' club chairman Mark Bartley said the banner had been on display at the ground since the summer, but the words had "been our motto for years" and the decision to cover it "was a one-off [which] will have no impact on us".

"We are proud of our club colours, as are all fans up and down the country... and will continue to use the chant at our games going forward," he said.

"It is not remotely racist - it is simply a reference to the white shirts that our team wear."

Tranmere Rovers FC declined to comment.

Did you watch the Burnley game Fab? Palace totally dominated and deserved to win but were desperately unlucky due to a mixture of poor finishing from players like Benteke who you'd normally back to score and Chung Yong Lee's monumental cock up.
There may be a bigger problem, but I have to say I thought they were terribly unlucky not to get goals and points from the game and if they had we wouldn't be having this conversation.

You cite Palace's "quality players" but it was their lack of quality that got De Boer sacked.

Grandpa Roy will sort it out ........ I'll give him till Christmas.

I don't rate Benteke at all but they paid a ton of money for him......we shall see.  My pal is a big Palace fan so the competition is on as to who gets the least amount of points this season, Palace or us.

FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round Draw:

Chorley v Boston Utd

One win away from the FA Cup 1st round proper. Blackburn at home would be nice. They wouldn't fancy it.

England match coming up this week starting with Slovenia and if they win that they have qualified, however Slovenia are no pushovers. Their players ply their trade around Europe at a decent level and they held England 0 - 0 at their place last year and beat Slovakia in their first encounter so England will need to be on their game.

BBC Sport headlining that Delph and Jones are out of the match, as though this is some sort of major problem.

Rashford and Kane are the only players that really matter.

Always rated Fabian Delph though. What an engine! Wish we had him.

War-battered Syria are incredibly on the verge of World Cup qualification - currently 1 - 1 away in Australia. Plenty of time to go though.

If they make it, what are the odds of them putting England out in the group stages?

Just realised that the winner of this still has to play a Concaf team to get to the final. Socceroos currently on top but scores still tied.
