Looking at the fixtures to come I really don't see many points coming but then I'm sure the other clubs in trouble will be thinking the same thing. I just wish Parky would accept that his hoof doesn't work with these players and tries to find a different way, including keeping some possession. I'm probably hoping in vain for that but sometimes even the most stubborn are forced to change.

Our home form has been excellent in recent months, I doubt whether there will be a change to hoofball. Plus, do you really think any of these players can pass?

Ye I struggle to see what the Parky critics are basing a belief that we should pass the ball with a spine that has mostly included Wheater, Beevers, Pratley and Henry.

When we had Madine we accepted it was going to be long ball and put up with it because Madine could play that hold up role well, whereas now we only have Grandad who is waste of space.
We have been playing a bit more football recently but Parky is itching to get back to route one as that's his preferred way of playing. If we can find a decent target man then all well and good to go back to that but it's pointless with Grandad upfront at the moment.

I'd rather have Clive Dunn up front than Wilbraham

To be fair it isn't Wilbraham that picks himself to play and even according to the match commentators who slated him all match until he was subbed - he did try hard and didn't hide away from putting himself on the line for the team.
And we did win at the end of the day too!

Correct, and it isn’t Parky who decided to leave us with one real striker in the squad (Alf). We need a plan b, but at the moment I don’t think Wilbraham gives us a plan a.

True but I wasn't amongst the ones criticising Parkinson.
For what it is worth my belief is that footballers (just like everyone else) have their likes and dislikes and some believe they are better at playing one way as against another.
I guess the secret of becoming a good manager is somehow finding a blend that fits into a system that works for all the players.
Rightly or wrongly Parkinson found that based around Madine plating a lone striker up front.
Even though all our other players remain it cannot be an easy job simply to find a system and a blend of players to find something different that works - and that is why I think there have been many team selection changes in our 5 games since Madine left (along with the number of games that need to be played in a relative short period of time).
I think he's clearly searching for something that can work and giving Wilbraham a run out in the Madine role seemed like something he would have to try sooner or later to see if it worked.
In our 5 games since we have picked up 7 points...
with Sunderland picking up 1 point, Barnsley 1 point (from 4 games), Hull 4 points (from 4 games), Burton 5 points, Birmingham 6 points.
Reading picked up 4 points from (from 4 games) to but I'm not really considering them in the scramble at the bottom just yet because they have a much better goal difference and the game in hand at this stage of the season.
So even though everybody is screaming how shit we've been since Madine's left we are still the best team form wise in the days since he left!

A long way to go yet but in context to the other teams around us no need to panic like we seem to be just yet.

And he's still better than Wibraham. Did you enjoy your journey onto the pitch last night by the way boogers? How did you take your defeat to Wigan the other night?

Sunderland owner will give the club away for free - they are in that much debt.
They look to be on the way down!

It seems its a disaster at Sunderland when they don't beat Bolton.I recall 2 Sunderland managers leaving the job after a poor result against Bolton and now the owner says he will give the club away after a defeat by Bolton!
