What sort of proof or rationale would it take for you to change your mind about the existence of God?

If I die and I still have to listen to your crap I'll know there's no God, only hell.

Obviously i can't as I'm not a scientist but if you wanted to actually "measure" hatred would you go to lab or a church? I know where i'd go. The instinct and hardwired desires of all species are well documented.

My point was that while feelings can be experienced and even explained, they cannot be measured by any act of science. This means that there is more to life than what science can explain.

They can be measured... I'm not sure what you mean by "measured" in that case.

That was meant as a serious and thought provoking question Please answer it as such.

I don't care what religion people are, and I can't stand those who quote their particular book of words, as though it will convince somebody. I will suffer another man's views or comments about his faith, as long as he does not try to convert me. I would prefer to know the mettle of the man, and whether he is a good person. I've learned over the years that everyone should be given a chance. Respect the man, whatever the religion, and he will respect you back (hopefully).

My research has not shown any definitive proof that emotions themselves can be measured.Attempts have been made in this regard and have been shown to only accurately record increases in pulse rate, REM, etc. What this records, in reality, is the effect these emotions have on an individual. The key word, however, is individual. We are no two of us the same - even if we are identical twins. I could hold a gun on you and Angry Dad, for instance. You may crap your pants while AD may use some Kevin Costner-type technique to break my wrist, take the gun from me and bum me with it. That does not mean he wasn't as afraid of me as you were, simply that his reaction to what he felt was different. There isn't even a unit of measurement for feelings despite over a hundred years of research on the topic. We have therefore managed to visit the moon and explore Mars, but we are unable to quantify emotions to this day. If you have scientific evidence to the contrary, I'd be pleased to review it.You can feel emotions and you know they exist - you recognize them when you feel them or see them in others. Why then is the concept of faith so far fetched?
