Have a look at this as it may interest you.
Not a bad diet to be fair.

I tried the Med diet, and only just managed to fit it in with all the other stuff I ate.

I was trying to be all healthy last night and it came back to bite me! I had Mackerel for tea and even though it was very nice i ate too much of it and now my stomach can't handle it.
You just can't win!

To lose weight you need to stop eating and drinking anything with sugar in it. Its OK to have sugar when you are younger, but not when older. No cakes, no biscuits, no fruit drinks, as they are all laced with sugar and cause weight gain. Sugar is put in so many foods now. Also stop eating processed foods. Stop eating white bread, only eat wholemeal and brown breads. Also if anyone who is older drinks beer then they will put weight on, so no drinking beer. Walk anywhere where you can that you do not need to use the car for.
Doing all the above can drop cholestorol and lower blood pressure.

I agree with everything you say sunlight apart from sugar being OK for kids. It is OK if it is in an occasional treat but there are far too many obese children around these days due to their poor diet.

One of the kids at the school mine goes to is 4/5 years old and is quite overweight. He’s at least twice the size of my lad.
The mum is constantly giving him crap to eat. Mainly sweets and when the ice cream van is outside when the weather is ok, after school she’s in the queue buying him one every day.
Such a shame because he doesn’t understand enough and then it will be too late.

If you're skint it's a lot cheaper to buy a bag of 36 frozen chicken nuggets than buy a couple of fresh chicken breasts.
Easy to look down on folk when you can afford healthy food.

I used to be terrible for eating badly. Nowadays I avoid eating processed foods and eat anything that they cant have tampered with, for example basic vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, beetroot etc ( yes they could have genetically modified them and have to wash them because of pesticides ). Eat more protein such as eggs, which are cheap.Natasha Whittam wrote:If you're skint it's a lot cheaper to buy a bag of 36 frozen chicken nuggets than buy a couple of fresh chicken breasts.

You can scan cans of food with apps now and it gives it a rating and says whats in it. Tins of heinz beans and sausages used to ( maybe still does? ) contain six sugar lumps in it. A can of beans is the same sixe as a coffee cup, and if you are a diabetic then 6 sugars in a drink of coffee is poisonous.
The basic foods are the most healthy and cheapest.
It took me a while to find fruit such as apples tasty again after eating rubbish for years as it had ruined my taste pallet.

I know the feeling. Hope you're soon A1 again. My only problem is getting enough sleep. Only seem to manage around three hours a night these days.Norpig wrote:I should lose a few pounds in the next few days as my stomach is off again and i have no appetite, so fed up with feeling like this!

Wow, that's really bad.
You need at least double that.
Do you nap or something during the day?
You really need to get into some sort of routine, perhaps similar to what it was when you worked.
Are you having coffee or some other stimulants in the evenings that are contributing to keeping you awake?
Are you getting enough exercise and thus tiring you out and letting your body natural want to take some rest?
I'm not looking for you to answer, how you live is your business, I'm just throwing out a few suggestions out that may help in some way.
But really sleep is vital and you need to be getting way more than just three hours in a day for your own good health.
PS, Norpig, get well soon.

I think my problem is my internet addiction. I used to climb into bed and go straight to sleep. Now I climb into bed with my phone or iPad. Even when I do put my head down, it'll be to the sound of a talking book, or a youtube video.Sluffy wrote:

I really need, like many others I'm sure, to turn everything off and concentrate on going to sleep. I've rather sleepwalked into this, thinking I was in complete control of my actions, when I'm clearly not.
I need beauty sleep more than most.
