Love Christmas, and it gets better as you get older, and this year it'll be even better because a new grandson is here, giving another reason to indulge myself in presents, food, etc. Just love it!

Why does everything in your small world have to be fried chicken???? Is there nothing else to eat in Blackburn, since the Venky's arrived to bring the town into the 18th Century!

For those who are interested:
A stroopwafel is a waffle made from two thin layers of baked batter with a caramel-like syrup filling in the middle. They were first made in Gouda in the Netherlands, in 1784. Large versions are sold in the streets as a snack.

One a day with a nice cup of freshly brewed coffee at about 11 o'clock, without a miss - Perfect! Very Happy

I love Christmas but there's a darker side to it that not everybody understands. There's a pressure to be enjoying yourself which is really shit for people with a lot on their plate. So Christmas is great if you can disregard your troubles, otherwise it's utterly crap. I'm surprised Radiohead haven't written a song about this.

Some peoples eyes are bigger than their bellies. Your post should be in the NHS thread.

If anyone is after a real Christmas tree this year then look no further than Nuts member Carl Baxter. You can PM him or visit his website which is on his memberlist page.

All you need is BH to visit, and you can have a blue and white fairy to stick on the top of the tree. On second thoughts .....

This story caught my eye today. Personally, I am with the police on this one. Selfish bloody parents abandoning their cars and causing chaos at the Doctors surgery just so they can watch their kids in a nativity play. Why should they be allowed to park where they bloody well like ? Responsible drivers park safely and correctly so I don't see what they are moaning about.

If the PC had chosen to ignore the original complaints about the parking he would have been neglecting his duty so I think he was quite within his rights on this occasion.

Had I been in his shoes I would have had the offending vehicles towed away for causing an unnecessary obstruction to the highway. They would have complained a damn sight more if they had to pay to get their vehicles back from the pound.

With regards to Christmas - What does everyone have for their lunch/dinner?

Do you opt for the traditional turkey or do you have anything else, looking for a bit of inspiration.

I'm fed up with Turkey. You end up having it for a bloody week. We are just having a Turkey crown this year. Things have never been the same since Bootiful Bernard Matthews popped his clogs. I just to love his Norfolk Eastern European turkeys. Bloody bootiful.
