Obviously i don't expect it to be rigidly true to life.

I'm talking about the replay value of a specific plot line.

Although the original H50 was the dogs bollocks, along with Hill Street Blues, NYPD Blue and St Elsewhere, I do like the new H50 (2nd season on Sundays on Sky1).

Another drama I do like at moment has to be the 2nd series of Mad Men - shame that finishes next Thursday. Also CBS Drama is currently repeating Mile High, which I did enjoy when it was on Sky 1 (along with its sister series The Dream Team)

I didn't know they had made a remake of Hawaii Five O. Is nothing sacred ?

I bet he plays Danno. He's lost a lot of weight since the original.

A good one that used to be on More4 and was on Channel 4 now and again was ''Without a trace'', a cracking FBI missing persons series which I highly recommend.

I have never sat down and watched CSI but I am told I would love it if I like Without a trace.

Auf Wiedersehen, Pet!
Van Der Valk (all series')
Buck Rogers
Sharpe (I know that is more the 90's era)
Sledge Hammer
Cold Feet
Blake's 7
Spooks
Robin of Sherwood

But of today's drama's I must admit there is very little I am interested in as they tend to be very formulaic nowadays but the ones I do like are:

Blue Blood
Hustle (although this is the final series)
Hawaii Five O
Boardwalk Empire
Whitechapel

Must admit I cannot shows such as NCIS (all variants), CSI (all variants) Law & Order (all variants) - they just seem like very lazy TV as why have all variamnts and each based on the same premise and more than likely having same stories over and over again...

Love Cold Feet. So, so dry humour.

I got the box set years ago, when I still lived in Bolton. But have to admit is just seems to get continuously repeated over here - although in a late slot of about 11pm!

They also keep repeating 'Allo 'Allo as well - for some reason they really love that show!

Hello bwfc71, nice to meet you.

But I'm afraid I can't have you slagging off my favourite programme of all time - Law & Order is brilliant. Great actors, great stories and most importantly, great characters.

Don't get me wrong the originals of each of those Franchises are/were great, but it is lazy TV by the makers and schedulers when they start creating spin-off after spin-off after spin-off - just seems to be no originality by the major US Networks nowadays. Plus by the time L&O was axed last year they did look as though they were repeating storylines - which they are now doing on L&O:UK (especially when you see in the credits - adapted from...)

The original Law & Order was brilliant from the first to the last series, SUV was good for the first 6 or so seasons but went really silly and over the top from then on. I thought Law & Order: LA was outstanding, amazing they cancelled it after one season.

I like the UK version, Bradley Walsh is great, but it's a bit of a con basing them on the American episodes, that really is lazy TV!
