A scene from the World Cup Qualifier between then-bottom team USA and Costa Rica. Not surprisingly, the USA snatched a win and also not surprisingly, Costa Rica lodged a protest over being forced to play in a snowstorm. Again not surprisingly, it has been thrown out. What is your opinion on the USA playing their Central American and quite temperate neighbours in snowy conditions in cold, cold Colorado?

It's the same for both sides. If the ref deems the game playable then that's just the way the mop flops.

Looks like fun conditions to play in IMO.

It's not the same for both sides though, the closest a Costa Rican has come to snow is through a 10 Dollar bill.

If Greenland get their act together football wise then they'll have the Yanks covered for snow.
The World Cup should involve every country except the United States and then they can concentrate on their World Series of Rounders.

Smart move - can you blame them really.
Everybody who can, does it.
Nobody could ever beat Ecuador at home without oxygen, it was so high up.
In fact FIFA had to bring in an altitude rule because of it -

No European team was ever going to win the World Cups played in Mexico.
Similarly what chance do you think anyone from a country that as a normal rainfall will have in the 2020 World Cup in Qatar if its held in summer and outside - average temp being around 40 degrees C!

The effects of unfamilar weather conditions are not to be sniffed at. It may get up their noses but they'll just have to suck it up. If their complaint doesn't cut it they'll just have to take a different line.MartinBWFC wrote:It's not the same for both sides though, the closest a Costa Rican has come to snow is through a 10 Dollar bill.
