Di Canio has got on my nerves lately with his 'I did a great job at Swindon for 18 months so I'm definitely a great manager' talk.

What's wrong with talking yourself up?

It's annoying. More to the point, in this case, it's silly.
Graham Westley did a remarkable job for Stevenage. He went to Preston where he was arguably one of the worst they've had.
A lot of managers can do a great job for five minutes. It doesn't necessarily make them great managers.

A shortlived appointment. He'll be a disaster and will get his marching orders before Christmas

I think he'll keep them up this season, I think he'll re-ignite the place.

He might well keep them up- but he'll still be gone by Christmas

I suspect the board would be happy with that.

Give him 3 games and there'll be the first public spat and then the fun will begin.
It'll be good entertainment.

I didn't know about Di Canio fascist believes until Miliband resigned (Good for him)
I would be thoroughly embarrassed, not something that comes easily, if Bolton Wanderers had a self confessed fascist as manager and would never go near the place again until he'd gone.

Ha, brilliant appointment IMO.
About time we saw a manager with a bit of passion, someone not afraid to ruffle a few feathers with the big boys.
Sunderland will stay up now.

You also said this.
Freedman has to be the most incompetent manager there has been at BWFC for a very long time
Yes Freedman is much more "incompetent" than Coyle, Sammy Lee and Megson.

I find it strange that a top politician should resign because of somebody else's political views. What happened to free speech, and freedom of choice. What will he be like if he gets into power? Will al other political parties be banned? Lets be honest, Paulo Di Canio isn't going to change the political landscape of the United Kingdom, just because he is appointed as manager for Sunderland, is he?

Bait? Those are your words. I find it hard to take anyone seriously who thinks Freedman is more "incompetent" than Megson, SL, and Coyle.
And considering you said a "very long time" I assume you're going back further, through the 70's 80's and 90's.

Strange that you class David Miliband as a 'top politician' - he's an also ran who has just agreed to go off to New York to run a think tank ( or something like that ) there. His kid brother beat him to a job- and he's sulked ever since. He's a typical labour politician- he'll always claim the moral high ground to show how honourable he is!
He's now history- but Di Canio is front page news. And will continue to be so until his antics get him the sack at Sunderland. He won't challenge the Venkys for short lived appointments- but he won't be far behind.
Enjoy the fun with the nutter in charge

Rammy, David Milliband is a very astute man, and though your point about the Labour party taking the honourable high ground is fair, I can almost guarantee that he will resurface in the political world. It wont be long before his half-baked brother implodes now I reckon.
