It's a good job Newcastle beat fulham last week or I would fancy them for the drop.

Sunderland were excellent today. I don't know much about Di Canio's tactical knowledge but he knows how to get the best out of his average players. They looked up for it today, Newcastle didn't.

It's new manager syndrome, nothing more.

Maybe, but if it lasts two or three more games it'll have been worth it.

Have to say that I thought his antics after each goal, and again at the end were OTT. Completely unnecessary. Before anyone else says its nice to see some passion, why don't the other managers carry on like this ?

Most Newcastle fans were over the moon about Pardew's new long-term contract last season because "finally we're giving a manager some stability".
Most of them have wanted him out this season.
It's funny how unimportant stability becomes when you're crap.

The thing with Pardew is that he isn't a young manager, who would be developing, learning, and adapting. and who didn't have a set formula to stick to. What you see is what you buy with an established manager, so the initial change was good, as you would expect, but I doubt he has done much to change the way he approaches games. Lets be honest, a 10 year contract for any manager is a rarity for a reason.

I don't think you can have a pop at the guy for being passionate. There's not enough of it in football these days.

Nothing wrong with the way he celebrated the goals imo.
Good to see tbh.

Passion is fine, acting like a prat on the touchline isn't. if he does this every game, people will soon get fed up with it. I think other managers restrain themselves out of respect for their opposite number.

I didn't, and today his responses were far more mooted tha Di Canio's. Also, Mancini didn't behave like an overexcited schoolboy today, and that was a bigger game

Pardew was jumping over advertising boards to celebrate with the fans the other day.
