The only thing I can think of was perhaps he wanted someone with pace to counter the quickness of Blackpool's forward players. Other than that, it was an absurd decision in my opinion. Another central midfielder would have been better.

Hindsight is great, especially when you have no idea what went on in training and preparation for the game. A manager can prepare a team for what he expects to happen, but until they're facing the real thing he can't be certain. Unlike OC, Dougie seems capable of recognising what's going wrong mid-game and has the nads to change it if required. Hall didn't set the world on fire but equally he didn't make huge mistakes. Wheater was presumably crapper than Ream in training.

I like Dougie and think he's done a great job so far.

Playing Butterfield at Leicester and Hall yesterday were shocking decisions though imo.

Hopefully he'll learn from his mistakes.

Dougie learns for his mistakes IMO, do you think Coyle would have taken Hall off in the first half yesterday?

Coyle wouldn't have made a change until the 89th minute, we would have lost and then he would have said we took our medicine and we've got a long term plan.

Did anyone see the Leicester winner? Jesus we were pretty unlucky really, in a normal league game that would have ended a draw but Forest literally just went for the win or bust and Leicester had a break away with 3 v 1. Gutted.

Agreed.

That was Leicesters first win at forest in 40 years, and on the last minute too.

We have had our fair share of bad luck. Relegation on last day and now missing out on play offs by GD

I am really surprised by Forest. I mean I can see the logic in just going for it in the last minutes of the game as a draw was no good to them but Leicester are their bitter rivals, to basically gift them a goal if they got caught on the counter attack when having everyone forward seems crazy. I wonder how they will feel if Leicester get promoted?
In a way it is a shame the players seemed to think a draw was good enough. Had Forest or Leicester been winning easy in the later stages and we knew we had to win maybe we would have shown some more urgency.

It will be very disappointing watching the Leicester v Watford game as that should have been us.

What a sad tosser. If that counted as a greatest ever achievement its time to pack it in mate and support a decent outfit, always room at PNE for disillusioned donkey shaggers. Laughing

Remember when we played Forest at their place and Billy Davies was back for his first match in charge? We got that rousing speech from him on the Tannoy and the Forest fans were cheering the second coming. It turned out to be yet another false dawn. What a crock of shit, he's no more a messiah than Coyle. Billy's ego is bigger than his stature warrants.

The manager so far has had a charmed life, winning or drawing games we really had no right too.

Today's starting eleven is typical Freedman, i.e. I'm the boss and I'll do what I like (no matter how nutty).

Playing crap players like Knight and Butters (there are more but it's too depressing) will only produce crap results.

I repeat, Freedman has been very lucky with the way things have gone but it couldn't last and if he continues next season with his constant chopping and changing BWFC will not progress.

I have never been a DF fan but gave him the benefit when he first came in. His bizarre team sheets and over cautious game plan made me doubt him but now I doubt no more. I think he is an average Championship manager, no more than that.

I do hope that posters who disagree with me don't resort to insults and little dancing men but state their case.

I like a bit of a debate but not just an exchange of insults.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Agree , Jury out but some seriously strange selections, Coyle 2 ???

Had it not been for Dougie and his team selections we wouldn't have been anywhere near the play offs, that's the situation whether you like it or not.

Decision to play Hall and go 4231 seems mistake but hopefully he'll learn from that.

If we can recreate our form under Dougie throughout next season, we'll go up. He's done more than enough to deserve a crack at next season.

You forgot, we blame him for the defeats, the wins are just luck. If that's your starting point I'm not sure how you can clamour for a "debate."

There's no one who thinks he got everything right, but he certainly didn't get everything wrong either, or just "by luck" win games, if you truly believe that you're not being genuine in your desire for debate. You're just talking nonsense.

Weeks later and you can pick out many moments in the season 2-0 v Charlton, last minute goal at Ipswich would have been a point.Butterfield diving in when there were 4wanderers defenders in the box, while winning 1-0 on 38 minutes.Dawson having to go back to WBA with one match to go.Best moment after all the dissappointment that diving cunt Knockaert missing the pen to send Leicster to Wembley then 40 seconds later Deeney smashing it home.Justice prevails.

Leicester were the best team to play at The Reebok this season.
