Jesus that's going to be one of the most shittest thing you will ever see.

I wonder if any of these protesters would be so against it if QQ came out and said they have put money towards bringing Dawson back or had backed us with some money in the transfer window for another player Douglas wanted?

And the protest now has the backing of a local MP and an MP from down south - both of whom will be attending!

Also more backlash in local companies pulling out of sponsorship deals with the club - heard of 3 so far which includes The Purple Property Shop and Oystons!

This supposedly positive PR for the club is suddenly becoming more than bad PR - especially with teh link to the local man who set himself on fire, and died, due to these pay-day loans companies!!!

Now reached national BBC website and wouldn't surprise me if it reaches onto BBC Breakfast, in the morning!

Why is that some football fans having a moral code so hard to grasp for others?

Any money will do as long as we get promoted. Rolling Eyes

If that were true every company would be doing it.

All I can say is you must be one special employee. You are the only person I've ever heard of who was sacked for gross misconduct but managed to receive full redundancy. You should write a book to pass on your info.

Isn't redundancy pay what you use to pay your mortgage whenyou lose your job?

I'm more pissed off that Quick Quids logo is orange.

I'm really not sure how we can wade through the raft of betting related sponsors and give off that QQ preys on the weaker members of society. Aren't Newcastle being sponsored by Wonga this season?

Have you ever been in a betting shop?

Betting shops and payday loan companies are worlds apart.

anyone planning to go to the Town Hall today for the protest? I can see it being as successful as the Megson protest!

A lot of the protesters won't know exactly what they're protesting about. They've heard Gartside's being a dick as usual, they've heard expressions like "glorified loan sharks" and "exploiting vulnerable people" which sound bad and decided it calls for a drama. I hope the news selects their interviews carefully.

That's not to say I don't think it's a crap move morally and for business for reasons that have already been mentioned. Then again, I'll believe the boycotts when I see them.

My problem with this company sponsoring us is the fact they are deemed to prey on the desperate and needy. They need government legislation to ensure the people that do need to use a company such as this can afford to maintain payments and at the moment they dont. So whilst a company like this is getting such bad press and not regulating who they lend to we shouldnt be seen brandishing their (yet again another bloody orange) logo.

The company has chosen the highest bid over any morality and I feel it is the wrong decision. The fact it is being talked about on the news is because it is a "hot topic" and is seen as negative. With the current situation we are in we should be concentrating on football and choosing a sponsor that will allow us to do so without all the negative press and behaviours that is now being displayed.

Yes there is a place for companies like this but they need to be regulated and people still need to be checked to ensure they don't end up in a downward spiral. I feel I can comment on this as I was in a downward debt spiral even though I have always worked full time. And it wasnt due to wanting to keep up with the jonesys. It was due to rising costs etc. I am now debt free and all to aware of saving and being thrifty over getting credit. If it is a case of educating people to this then maybe that could be a solution. But I feel the club have made a wrong decision with the wrong company at a very wrong time.

Bolton chairman, Phil Gartside, hailed QuickQuid's "energy and enthusiasm". Gartside added: "In our discussions it became obvious very quickly that both parties wanted to develop a partnership that engaged with all elements of the football club and community, and as much as anything else, to bring some real fun to matchdays

They will have one of them machines that blow money in a glass case. Anything you win is yours........ you just have to pay it back with 2000 percent interest at the next home game. Half time entrainment will be the public bankrupt notice being hands to the lucky winners.
