Just like Todd, but Coyle didn't always look down at his feet to see if the answer was down there

To be honest - and through no fault of his own - Holden as not been good value for money over the period of time he as been with us.
He's hardly played for us in nearly two years.
What we have paid him in wages for minutes on the pitch must be very high indeed.

Sluffy, I recall a debate over Sean Davis where I slated Megson for bringing a player to the club who'd take £5m in wages and play only three games. You rightly pointed out that Megson couldn't be blamed for Davis' injuries.
Holden was plainly the best player I've seen at Bolton post Allardyce era and would have been viewed an unbelievable bargain had he not been on the receiving end of an awful challenge - something completely out of Coyle's control.

When did we finish in the top eight under Coyle?

Holden injury was the only reason we didn't.

Dan, just out of curiosity. If you were Wolves in their current predicament, would you hire Coyle or Megson?doffcocker wrote:Coyle's game was almost entirely dependent on Holden and we wouldn't have gone down had he not broke his leg. This is no excuse for the decline because Coyle had the resources to compensate which he used terribly.
Having said that, how would Megson have coped, had Kevin Davies, a player he inherited at his peak and on whom Megson's game was unbelievably dependent, broke his leg?
I guess we'll never know.
