Just like Todd, but Coyle didn't always look down at his feet to see if the answer was down there

No he kept on looking up believing Jesus was watching over him.

To be honest - and through no fault of his own - Holden as not been good value for money over the period of time he as been with us.

He's hardly played for us in nearly two years.

What we have paid him in wages for minutes on the pitch must be very high indeed.

Sluffy, I recall a debate over Sean Davis where I slated Megson for bringing a player to the club who'd take £5m in wages and play only three games. You rightly pointed out that Megson couldn't be blamed for Davis' injuries.

Holden was plainly the best player I've seen at Bolton post Allardyce era and would have been viewed an unbelievable bargain had he not been on the receiving end of an awful challenge - something completely out of Coyle's control.

Agreed.

I don't think I have criticised Coyle for this signing have I?

Merely saying that through no fault of his or Coyle's that if you divided the minutes he spent on the pitch in to the money we've spent on him, he's probably one of the most costly players we have had here in a while - possibly up there alongside Sean Davis.

He does always seems to be out injured though.

Holden injury was the only reason we didn't.

The run after the arsenal game after we lost at Wembley was the reason, most of the fans blamed it on the Holden situation but lets face it coyle started to lost the plot and is the reason we didn't get a top 10 finish that season.

I hope for his sake that's true because he certainly isn't going to Wolves:-

Wolves have confirmed the appointment of former Millwall manager Kenny Jackett as their new head coach.

Jackett, who stepped down as Millwall manager earlier this month after five-and-a-half years in charge, succeeds Dean Saunders at Molineux.

Coyle's game was almost entirely dependent on Holden and we wouldn't have gone down had he not broke his leg. This is no excuse for the decline because Coyle had the resources to compensate which he used terribly.

Having said that, how would Megson have coped, had Kevin Davies, a player he inherited at his peak and on whom Megson's game was unbelievably dependent, broke his leg?

I guess we'll never know.

Dan, just out of curiosity. If you were Wolves in their current predicament, would you hire Coyle or Megson?
