I've seen Austin play a lot of times, even when he played for Swindon.
Charlie Austin.

Alright then.
He isn't the quickest but to suggest that he has 'no pace' is ridiculous.
A player doesn't score that many goals or is wanted by so many clubs if he has 'no footballing brain'. It's impossible.
I also wouldn't say that he's a thug. I assume that you've called him a thug because he dropped a mouthy young Swindon lad for bursting in his toilet cubicle.
Well I would have done the same.

Is there any need for this bickering lads? We need to up the quality of banter. Standards are slipping.
FWIW I like Charlie Austin. Anyone who is named after his favourite recreational drug AND his favourite character in the Six Million Dollar Man has a lot going for him IMO.

According to your mate Nixon, a fee of £1.75 million, plus extras has been agreed with QPR.Copper Dragon wrote:Signed for Hull for around £4.5 million.
At least he'll get 'one' season in the Premier League.

Get him there sooner rather than later, i'd hate it if he ever met a bloke called Knightmere in a couple of week.
It could be painful for us all.

Charlie wants away, so he'd have a stinker on purpose, don't worry about it.scottjames30 wrote:Get him there sooner rather than later, i'd hate it if he ever met a bloke called Knightmere in a couple of week.

Austin will be a threat, but (on paper at least) Burnley look significantly weaker than last season, if we're serious about going up automatically it's the sort of game we need to win IMO.

I would agree with that at the moment.
Although if we can finally sign David Jones then I don't think we will be any weaker than last season.
We'll still have to play very well to beat Bolton though.

If Knight starts which looks inevitable that's a one goal start to Burnley. After all didn't we have the worse away record in the Championship us or Leeds.Coyle giving Knight a 2 year contract is akin to me dropping a Mr Whippy outside DeVeres hotel, after a night on the beer followed by a Vindaloo then sprinkle some crushed hazel nuts on it.Fucking disgusting the decision to give Knight a two year contract.

Copper, any updates on Charlie Austin's knee, just out of curiosity?Copper Dragon wrote:Yes I would have thought so, but Hull are a club that signed the crock Jimmy Bullard for over £5 million and he was constantly injured for them.
So they will understandably be overly cautious with any big money signings.
I'm going to wait for the second opinion on his knee before I comment on where he will end up.

No updates that I know of.
He's played in both pre season games to date and has looked absolutely fine.

He will probably have a 20+ season again, especially if he feels that he needs to prove a point.

I bet he can't wait to play against Knight.
