Just throwing this into the mix lads and lasses
"@SamAndrewMartin: @OfficialBWFC #AskDougie Is there any truth in the Jordan Rhodes rumour?"
"@OfficialBWFC: DF: "Being an ex-forward I admire Jordan as a player. At the moment he's a Blackburn player.""

Said almost the same thing about Spearing (at the moment he's a Liverpool player)
Well we all know that so thanks for nothing Dougie.
Not great expectation management. I'm starting to find the whole Rhodes thing a bit stressful. A cheeky bid or an outright denial would be useful.

Apparently Freedman is on heat trying to get him, so until its dead in the water they probably wont deny anything.

Wouldn't surprise me if Wigan gazumped us:
Owen Coyle concedes that he is looking to bring as many as three strikers into Wigan Athletic this summer.
Coyle has inherited a squad at the DW Stadium distinctly lacking in attacking firepower.
Mauro Boselli and Franco Di Santo have already left the club, and Arouna Kone would appear to be edging towards the exits - with Dave Whelan having admitted to receiving three bids for the Ivorian forward.
Addressing the lack of goals within his ranks is considered to be a priority for Coyle, who has succeeded Roberto Martinez at the helm of the 2013 FA Cup winners.
The Scot is aware of the areas that require the most work, as he looks to bounce Wigan back into the Premier League at the first time of asking, and is expecting there to be movement on the transfer front.
He told the Wigan Evening Post: "It's fair to say we are looking for a minimum of two, possibly three, strikers, and we're working desperately hard to make that happen.
"Arouna has done well for this club, but at this moment in time we need players who want to be here and want to take Wigan Athletic back into the Premier League.
"That gives us the chance at this early stage of the summer to adjust our thinking and bring in the necessary quality to the forward line."
Wouldn't be happy with that.

I would be surprised and disappointed if he ended up there.

They've no chance. They can't buy him outright, and I'm sure he'd prefer a loan move to us.

Maybe Dougie will agree to back off as a sweetener for the Rhodes deal?

Why would anyone want to play for Blackburn. Talk about a crisis club.

Rovers have just signed DJ Campbell on a 2 year deal. Is it an omen?

If Rhodes came on the market why would we be top of the queue.
It's a nice thought and maybe we did enquire but it's fantasy stuff IMO.

Rhodes is a local lad and we're a club on the up.
Stranger things have happened!

You've got the last word and the first word wrong way round.

Not a chance will Spearing go to Wigan, this is typical paper talk, an obvious link to make between a player out of favour and a manager who's signed him before.
If he decides he's ready to give up on his Liverpool career and gets no offers from the premier league we'll be first in line. Depending on the fee I'd take him, he's a good championship player but you can see why he's struggled in the prem, I think Medos a better player.

Blackburn to Bolton would be a sidewards step in my opinion.
Part of me wants it to happen just because it would infuriate Blackburn fans. Confirmation that the days of them being the bigger club that could take our best players are long gone. I can't see why Rhodes would come though.
