I said Sugar would bin Katie off first chance he got and I was right. She only survived last time because he didn't want to fire three women in a row.
Useless bitch.
Adam is my favourite candidate, in terms of entertainment. I like plain speaking people.
He did miss the point of the task though, he thought gourmet meant 'license to overcharge' rather than 'high quality, high pricing point'.
The highlights for me were when they were getting no sales outside Tyncastle and Katie rang up and suggested charging £7.99 instead of £5.99. I laughed my ass off at her stupidity.
Having said that, if he'd banged the portions out at £2 a throw they would have been queueing up and he would have made 300% gross margin. Trying to sell ANYTHING for 12 times what it cost you to make it, in volume, is practically impossible.
And once again I found myself cringing at the sales pitches, if you want to engage customers you don't ask them closed questions like "have you had your tea yet?" or "would you like to try some of our stew?", it's too easy for people to bat you off with yes or no answers.
The people trying to engage the passing customers should have had a little sample table set up with a bits of stew/meatball on sticks, got people over with the free samples, and while they had their mouths full, told them about the quality of the product and invited them over to the mobile kitchens. Samples make hungry people feel hungrier.
All these business brains and not a basic grasp of how customer's minds work between any of them.
