Aberdeen have cancelled the contract of Gregg Wylde just six months into a three-year deal with the club.
The winger, who moved from Bolton Wanderers in the summer, managed 10 appearances and one goal during his short stint at Pittodrie.
The 22-year-old's last appearance for the club came in the Scottish Cup win at Partick Thistle on December 1, lasting 61 minutes before being replaced.
The former Rangers man is now free to join another club and is not bound by the January transfer window.
To play again this season, Wylde would be required to sign for another team before March 31. St Mirren have been credited with an interest in signing the player.
A short statement from Aberdeen read: "[We] can this morning announce that Gregg Wylde has had his contract cancelled by the club.
"The club wishes Gregg all the best for his future career."
