Geminid meteor shower peaks tonight. I hope you'll all be out there, wrapped up warm.

I was discussing this very topic with Magoo earlier on tonight and he assured me he would be this evening armed with his dwell meter and feeler gauges.

It's gonna peak at 02:00 am so I'm steeling myself with my hip flask and a big bag of Doritos.

The (shit) telescope is set up and is acclimatising nicely (despite the dog having weed up it twice) and I'm raring to go.

Not seen much yet with the naked eye because of the cloud cover apart from Mrs Clarke at No 26 (her with the wonky eye and the predilection for rank exhibitionism) but that's just normal for a Saturday night.

I got bored and swung it over to have a look at the Moon but I forgot to put the Lunar Filter on so I'm pretty much in the same boat as  Mrs C, as I can no longer see properly out of my right eye.

This had better be worth it......

2.15.Everyone in the close in bed but me. The bloke next door looked out of the window a minute ago and gave me the finger. We don't get on.
Don't need a telescope to watch meteors so it's just me,a big coat and a flask of coffee. Might nip in to see if the Khan fight has started. Should really have gone on the golf course, less light pollution, but I couldn't be arsed.
I can't feel my feet. Laptop battery running out too. Gloves going back on,too cold to type.

Not a bad night in the end. Got quite a good show, but nearly froze.
Survived, and got back in the house around 5am.
Mind you,my testicles appear to have migrated to warmer climes, leaving me a little higher on the octave scale, but I'll tough it out.
Bet Bread gave up,the big girls blouse. Very Happy

No need for a telescope KP. All you need is the naked eye,a deck chair and a warm coat.
You'll all be doing it next year. Very Happy

Just watched 'The Hobbit' part 2. Bloody rubbish.
Won't be getting part 3 when it comes out.
Disappointing, because i enjoyed the Lord of the Rings trilogy, but they've made a mess of this one.

I can't remember the last time I watched a film.

In fact the last time family and friends got together to put a DVD on and to have a few beers, I sat at the back of the room reading the paper! Very Happy

I generally can't sit still for that long!

I guess a film like titanic isn't for you then KP. Apart from the fact it's absolute shite it's on for about 8 hours. Felt like it anyway.

Don't bother. It's a large chunk of your life you'll never get back. Some of the best films are pretty long though. Pulp Fiction and The Shawshank Redemption spring to mind. Great films

I remember watching this over 3 lessons of Geography due to the fact that my year we're about to graduate.

Have to say that I would rather have done Geography! Very Happy
